Duke Nukem Forever demo coming June 3 for First Access Club members

After over 15 years, players all over the world will finally be able to play (drum roll please) a portion of Duke Nukem Forever. Developer Gearbox Software just announced that the demo for the long awaited first person shooter will be made available on June 3. Yes, June 3.

The announcement came in the form of a video (shown below) where Gearbox Software's head man Randy Pitchford made us think that the game might actually be delayed again before the reveal of the demo date was made. The date is just for First Access Club owners only. That means that only people who have pre-ordered Duke Nukem Forever or have purchased the Borderlands Game of the Year Edition will get the first crack at the Duke Nukem Forever demo. There's no word on when the demo will be made available to everyone else. There's also no word on what kind of content the demo will contain so we don't know yet if it will be a single player demo, a multiplayer demo or a combo of both.

Just in case you are wondering the game's current release date are staying put, at least for now. In the video Pitchford says that the game is in certification for all three platforms which means the final bugs and issues are being fixed before the game is approved for the Xbox 360, PS3 and PC platforms. The 15 year wait for the full game will end on June 14 for North American gamers and on June 10 in other parts of the world.

15 years ago i was too young to know what all this crazieness is about. feel like i am missing out on something fun.

When this game is finally released I think it will spoil it. I mean the whole premise of the game is that the release date gets constantly pushed back and that it never gets released. I'm hoping on at least one more postponement .

So...

First Access Club members, purchasers of Borderlands GOTY Edition and those that download the demo from (insert favorite bittorrent site here) will get the first crack at the demo.

Hopefully the demo will be locked down so that only First Access Club members can install and play it!

Only one question remains; will Duke Nukem make us his b**ch?

Lets just the chicks in the game are nice and curvy and updated to current graphics standards like when they showed that preview trailer in the past.

He can't! Only John Romero can do that…

I think it will be really bad. Really, really bad. So bad that will buy a copy just to throw it into the fire, and then buy another one just to do it again.

One month to release and we haven't seen any gameplay yet!

15 years hype...hype that will be scrutinised like crazy. Will it live up to it? We'll find out very soon.

i doubt i can live up to the hype. BUT... i am going into it mostly for the character and comedy as i think it will succeed in that dept but the gameplay itself i can't imagine being to much different than your typical decent shooter.

but i do like that little touch in the game about the 'ego meter' instead of a health

p.s. i am sure someone will get the demo and leak it online not long after it's out on those services.

I think as long as people approach this game with an attitude of "I want to play a fun game!" instead of "This has to be the best game ever I waited 15 years for this!".

Because no game could live upto a 15 year hype build up. But with that said I think this will be a very fun game. The only thing that will disappoint me is if this game is short like the Call of Duty series. I am expecting at least a 10 hour experience AT LEAST with this games single player campaign.

And I think that's a realistic expectation.

From what I heard, the campaign is going to be about 16-18 hours, which is pretty good
