EA confirms FIFA 14 to be shown during next Xbox reveal

Until today, the only game that was confirmed to be shown on Tuesday at Microsoft's next Xbox reveal was Activision's upcoming shooter Call of Duty: Ghosts. Today, Electronic Arts has also confirmed it will be making an appearance during the event at the big tent in Redmond, Washington.

In a post on the EA Sports FIFA Facebook page, the publisher announced it will show the first footage of FIFA 14, the next game in its best selling pro soccer game series, on Tuesday as part of the next Xbox festivities.

EA and Microsoft were previously rumored to reveal some sort of partnership as part of the next Xbox announcement. It's possible that EA could offer people who buy games such as FIFA 14 some exclusive content for the version's made just for Microsoft's next generation console.

EA was a noticeable no-show in February when Sony revealed the PlayStation 4, although the company has already announced it plans to release games for Sony's next console as well. However, EA has confirmed it currently does not have any plans to release games for the Wii U.

Yawn! They only have an hour and for them to fill up their show wish rehashed multiplatform crap like COD, Fifa and UFC (Peter Moore says this will be shown tomorrow). They will have to do a lot more than that to impress me; the 360 launched with a huge variety of games and yet for the past couple of years they have been relying on the same tired 1st and 3rd party games. MS need to have a huge array of unique titles before I will muster up the energy to be even slightly excited.

Ooooo how exciting Cod and Fifa two annual releases that are multiplatform. See MS are continuing where they left off. Aren't you excited for next gen that's exactly the same as the current one?

Forza 5 is rumored as a launch title...

Actually a PGR5 game seems more likely done by Lucid games and Rare. I would rather have a new PGR than Forza, but still doesn't counteract the better twin's point. MS has been on autopilot for the last 2-3 years relying on Forza/Gears/Halo and multiplats. If that trend continues onto the new console it is hardly a compelling reason to upgrade.

Well Sony essentially does the same thing (Gran Turismo, God of War, Killzone). Each console has it's own set of exclusives. Otherwise having 90% of games being multiplat is a good thing. I'm a big Forza and PGR fan, which was a big reason I bought the 360. But since PS3 had blu-ray and Grand Turismo 5 (which turned out to suck), I also bought a PS3.

Ideally I'd just like to buy 1 console this time around.

It will probably be worse than FIFA 13, it's been heading downhill since FIFA10. American's think SimCity is bad, it's not even close to the monstrosity that is Ultimate team.

Oh, you mean the field size is too small to play and players clothes are all DLC?

To get the best single player you have to pay £200-300 or be extremely lucky. To get the TEAM OF THE YEAR you have to pay £1000. (check ebay).

i seem to be managing just fine in FUT without any of those players... just heading towards my 4th div 1 trophy. it's all about the journey, and enjoyment of winning with less than top top top tier players, and building the best squad

I've currently got an SPL team worth 30k and I'm still winning division 1 titles. But it's disappointing that when I have a Dutch team I will never be able to afford Robben. Also almost every inform is way overpriced.

But it's annoying that people pay more than the value of the game on ultimate team players. Then the only teams they have is EPL or Brazillian with pace, pace and more pace. Now even though my team is rated 72, I still face teams rated 84 every game.
