Europeans Have it Bad? Try Being Japanese

Ever been frustrated at waiting nearly a year to get that Final Fantasy game that Japan has had for what seems like years and years? Well, now the Japanese know exactly how feels, and have responded by purchasing 227,000 copies of Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas.

GTA: SA was originally released in North America in 2004, nearly three years later the Japanese market has had its chance to play one of the best games on the GTA franchise, and by it reaching number one in the Japanese chart it shows that western games do have a place in the Japanese homes.

Just last week Microsoft's Gears of War jumped into the top 10, but this week is absent from even the top 50, so there is obviously a little work to be had for Western games.

i dont get how gears could be in the top ten one week and then not in the top 50 the next! I mean, did it really slip more than 50 spots in a week? that seems hard to believe. Unless the Japanese are all about the fads and buying something like crazy one sec... and then not at all the next. :P
