Everquest II: Play The Fae Trial

That's right, that other big MMORPG Everquest II is still going strong. As you guys may know, SOE just launched the newest expansion for Everquest II a couple of weeks ago - aptly named Echoes of Faydwer. The new trial for the popular MMORPG allows you to play as the new playable race - the Fae, a fairy like race of beings that float above the ground slightly and have gorgeously animated wings and colors to boot. You can play the trial for 7 days, completely free of charge - there is no credit card or previous subscription needed here. After the 7 days are up, you will of course have to buy the expansion and pay for a subscription to continue to play if you so choose. But buying the expansion is great, because for $40 US you get the original game itself, and all of the expansions in one DVD bundle. Great way to start off if you are new to the Everquest II world I think.

Echoes of Faydwer adds a ton of new content to the game. You can literally start a new character in the land of the Fae and go from level 1 to 70 without ever leaving the expansion areas. Now that's how you do an expansion baby! The level cap was left at 70, but there is content for everyone. New players, old players, everyone has something to do. Over 20 new zones, over 350 new quests, 40+ new NPCs, new player cloaks, more PvP stuff, new achievements to use, and the new God system! Whew, that's all I can think of off the top of my head.

So head on over to the sign up page, download the trial and start floating about the new starting city of Kelethin!

I think with EQ2 out they should go ahead and make the Origonal EQ Free to Play... They've got to be making MORE than enough Money to Cover all the Costs of Upkeep, I mean, after all EQ has been out for almost 10 years...

- rofl, thats not what i heard. i think i will take a look at whats changed in the past year though.

What, 300-400,000 subscribers isn't enough?

I think you'll find unlike Blizzard and WoW, Sony actually adds content all the time to EQ2. Go check to see how much stuff has been added just to the base game alone, I think you'll like most of it.

Yea that's why after the huge update ( i think it was number 13) when they made major changes to all the characters, everybody got dissappointed and left the game to go to wow and ppl actually went back to SWG... the problem with Sony is that they make changes all the time so users like me who are used to play the game that way have to re-learn the game every 3 months... that's why I'm not in EQ2 anymore...

I think you're confusing the term "all" with the term "you" here...
There's has been no huge balance or gameplay changes to EQ, not anywhere near even one of the SWG changes. The Combat balance change LU 13 or whatever was mostly behind the scenes technical stuff, and the rest while it did affect slightly how you played it wasmostly a matter of re-arrangin you spells as you got more and different spells. and I don't really remember anyone leaving that didn't return, and even the ones that did where quickly back as they realized the new system was much better, and the "change" to how they play their characters was pretty much non existant.

So time to stop acting like you speak for everyone or even anyone besides yourself, especially when real numbers say you lie.
