Facebook wants to block unwanted callers for you

A new Android app from Facebook called Phone might be coming out soon, as a notification was sent out to many users yesterday about it.

Facebook has been working hard to improve its mobile presence and engagement with users for quite some time. It already has multiple projects that cater specifically to mobile users and it also provides App Store and Play Store suggestions in its mobile ads. Now, the company could be working on an app for controlling the way users make and take their phone calls as a notification about it accidentally went out yesterday.

According to the notification, it is clear that the app will provide details of the callers and will proactively block those numbers which have been blocked frequently. The name of the app mentioned is "Phone" indicating that it might also feature a dialer and possibly contacts integration with Facebook accounts.

Currently, there is no other information available about the app as it hasn't been officially published or leaked. However, we might hear officially from the company at the annual F8 conference which will be held on 25 March 2015.
