Final Fantasy XIII Collector's Edition announced

In the buildup to the release of Final Fantasy XIII in English-speaking territories, Square Enix have announced a Limited Collector's Edition of the game is coming to Europe for both Playstation 3 and Xbox 360. No word on pricing yet, but if you take Game's word for it you're looking at spending 60 hard-earned pounds.

The set includes a soundtrack CD "especially chosen for [the] Limited Collector's Edition" (read: watered-down), a hardback book featuring artwork, three art prints, and a "brand of the l'Cie" decal. The hardback art book sounds interesting, but is the package really worth paying 50% more for? Let us know what you think in the comments.

Final Fantasy XIII is due for release on March 9th.

Hmmm... I already have my xbox 360 non-collectors version pre-paid and reserved. I don't mind dropping another $30 for it. The 50% increase indicates the US release might be about $90-$100 to get.

After the disappointing reviews, I'm almost becoming apathetic towards this. I certainly won't be handing over £60 for it. It won't even be a compulsory purchase; I'll most likely rent this for a weekend before I make a decision. I never thought I'd say that about a Final Fantasy game.
