Set a Guinness World Record Enjoy a Better Web
Sounds like a good deal, right? All you have to do is get Firefox 3 during Download Day to help set the record for most software downloads in 24 hours - it's that easy. We're not asking you to swallow a sword or to balance 30 spoons on your face, although that would be kind of awesome.

Looking at one column in the task manager doesn't give you great insight into a programs memory management.

Also, bad extensions can cause problems.

"We're not asking you to ... balance 30 spoons on your face, although that would be kind of awesome."

Mozilla has the saddest idea of "awesome" I've ever heard.

I'm curious ... is there a legitimate document\chart comparing IE vs. FF vs. Opera ?
Because I can't notice any differences between IE7 and FF3..

The difference between Firefox 3 and IE7 is MASSIVE! IE7 is so slow in comparison.

Says who?

FireFox was a little slow in starting up the first time, i guess to the initialization et al, but since then its been zooming, much much more faster than the RC1, sites are loading much faster. A job well done all in all....FF bags the home prize! Firefox 3.0 FTW!!

And the FF 3.0 is so much talked about that it was in the National Newspaper today! The largest selling newspaper in India.

Been using opera 9.50 exclusively for some days waiting for FF 3.0 release. Now that finally happened, FF feels slow to me.

IF your running Windows XP and Firefox, in the 'Quick Launch' section on the right, I always use Prefretch, so right click on icon then properties and where it says "Target" after /prefetch:1 at the end of the exe path for example mine says.

"F:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe" /prefetch:1

It makes Firefox load so much quicker and works with other apps to

I wonder how long will the advertisement for FF3 last on the main page...
Because it sure is one. Notifying about a mayor release is one thing but holding it as the first-sticky news for a few days is advertisement. I wonder what a company has to do to gain such priviledges ?
A pity that the mayor Opera 9.5 release wasn't advertised in such a way.
Anyone notices a bias towards FF fanboyism on neowin ?

BTW - Opera 9.5 just has hit over 5 milions of downloads !

Firefox is more popular than Opera here on neowin because more people use Firefox here. Duh.

I don't argue about popularity, and that FF has more market share.
What I want is that this site would be as objective as possible.
And that all browsers and software should be threated in the same way.
That way the site is unbiased and gives impratial news, where everything is equal.

This FF fanboyism and this adverts just give me headaches.

If Microsoft releases its new OS and some Linux distro releases its new OS, which one do you think would make it to the main page news and why? For the same reason Opera's release didn't come to the main page, and FF did. Lets be totally honest here, not that many people use Opera as compared to IE and FF. FF release has been so hyped about that it was even in the National newspapers here in India. So as I see it, Opera should've made it to the main page news, but its not that big-a-deal and doesn't make me any anti-neowin or anti-FF.

I've seen many Linux distros news on the neowin's main page
My opinion is - keeping this site as un-biased as possible is a big deal.
Btw - there are more MS-bash news on neowin than any other OS ever has had so it is a bad example I think...

it was quite predictable that people in Iran would welcome new firefox properly .

if you search for "فایرفاکس" on google you'll notice that there are so many blogs and Iranian websites who are following the progress of new firefox .

in addition to this , if you visit mozilla party web page , you'll get surprised about amount of parties which's going to held for new release of firefox in iran .

in addition to that I don't think that bots can generate this amount of traffic for a whole country , I do have more faith in Mozilla engineers .
