wasn't there once a big foobar customize thread somewhere on neowin where you could see some awesome layouts?
why not include one of this and bring out a custom ver of foobar for everyone.
this looks sadly too basic and 1990ish

plain and simple: shut up, troll

you arent making any sense, you are you reading a tech news website when you are obviously not educated properly tech-wise?

its not about how it looks, its about efficiency
people use Audacity even though its interface hasnt changed a bit over the years
even if Microsoft still forced the Classic Shell theme on modern versions of Windows, people would still use it, because they wouldnt know any better - rulers write standards, winners write history

i could go on more about "why-you-are-not-right" but i dont care, you just need to stop trolling, because you arent making any sense

stop up with your foul language.
any lightweight prog can still made be good looking.
if i see a screenshot like this, or the all time same icons on winrar, i just continue looking away. and many people think like this.
the ram usage would maybe only go up about 50kb or so when using a customized design on foobar.
for example take this one:
http://www.neowin.net/forum/uploads/monthly_02_2012/post-76734-0-55974300-1328896113.jpg

looks much better already and is out there for free, like so many others.

mine is like this and it has served me perfectly since 2009, it hasnt crashed once, unless those two times when i installed the milkdrop visualization plugin (which is absolutely useless... unless you are listening to zenonesque while on psilocybin shrooms)

i dont need anything else than this, and i use it less and less, because i rely on youtube or spotify web player

i dont understand why people want it to be "beautiful"

windows 8's start screen is "beautiful" but absolutely useless, gnome 2.x and kde 3.x on the other hand, look like nothing special, but thats all i would ever need if i have to use linux, i'll make it resembe the windows xp shell, but white and with a hide desktop on the right like windows 7 and next to the start menu the 4 dekstop thingie

Foobar has a customizable UI and can look like winamp, windows media player, or anything in between.

Anyway, you're saying use a "better player". Does foobar does a do bad job playing? Or, do you want to say use a better looking by default and less configurable and ultimately worse player?
