Foxit PDF Reader 2.1 Build 2023

Foxit Reader is a free PDF document viewer and printer, with incredible small size (only 2.1 M download size), breezing-fast launch speed and amazingly rich feature set. Foxit Reader supports Windows 98/Me/2000/XP/2003/Vista. Its core function is compatible with PDF Standard 1.7. In the past, you have to download a huge PDF reader from another software company, go through a lengthy installation process and wait for an annoying splash window to disappear just to open a PDF document.

What's new in Version 2.1

The following is a list of exciting improvements introduced in Foxit Reader 2.1.

--Design interactive forms
--Measure distances
--Insert images and add links into the PDF
--Add loupe tool
--Attach files to the PDF
--Select multiple annotations and specify annotation transparency
--Reading history recalls the place you were when you closed the PDF
--E-mail the PDF
--Check spelling in typewriter and form filler functions

Enhanced features:
--Enhanced zoom tools
--Renovated IE plug-in with almost all the capabilities of the main program
--Print only the annotations
--Enhanced permission control
--Built-in and improved JavaScript engine

I had problems with FoxIt not printing PDF's. It would show my print menu, I'd click print, my printer window would say printing and then disappear. Nothing would ever print though. The printer is attached to a network print server.

I've never had problems ever printing with FoxIt and printing to a network print server, there may be an issue with your network print server/printer drivers.

once you use adobe reader speedup it loads as fast as foxit and with adobe it loads all pdf's into 1 process, with foxit it would create multiple processes, also foxit has horrible font rendering.

Sumatra is great, just started using it a few months ago.

Never tried eXPert PDF Reader. Ill check that out, thanks for the link.

I agree with your Foxit rendering observation.

Yes. Font rendered by Foxit is completely ugly. The only good thing about Adobe is its font rendered are simply beautiful.

But Adobe uses too much CPU resource, not only while loading and rendering, but throughout the time a document is open, for some caching or other things.

Wow this is quite a change. My tool bar has a bunch of new stuff Ill probably never use...hope Foxit aint going all bloaty on us.

I doubt it'll reach adobe's level of bloat-ness.

Either way I agree. Main reason I use this program due to it's simplicity and being bloat-free.

Thats strange, I was just using Adobe 8.1, and I thought it was extremely fast and quite clean.

Even better than Adobe 7, which I used to use a lot.

Guess i'll stick with Adobe's "bloated" software. </sarcasm>

I stopped using Adobe since version 6. As long as it has this load screen that goes for 10seconds long I doubt it will be any better than what it was.
