Foxit PDF Reader 2.2 Build 2129

Foxit Reader is a free PDF document viewer and printer, with incredible small size (only 2.1 M download size), breezing-fast launch speed and amazingly rich feature set. Foxit Reader supports Windows 98/Me/2000/XP/2003/Vista. Its core function is compatible with PDF Standard 1.7. In the past, you have to download a huge PDF reader from another software company, go through a lengthy installation process and wait for an annoying splash window to disappear just to open a PDF document.

What's new in Version 2.2

The following is a list of exciting improvements introduced in Foxit Reader 2.2

New features:

* Capture words via mouse: If you are using a dictionary software, you may want to use your mouse to capture words inside a PDF file and has it translated. You can turn on this feature by checking "Screen word-capturing" option under "Edit">"Preference">"General".
* Search PDF in another way: Now you can search a string either in a single PDF file or in multiple PDF files under a specified folder. When the search finishes, all occurrences will be listed in a tree view, allowing you to quickly preview the contexts and jump to specific locations.

It still has too many toolbars enabled by default. Toolbars that you can only use if you have the paid-for version.
I found out how to eliminate them, though. You drag them off the toolbar and they becoming floaters. Then you simply close them. They stay gone.

You mean 5.6MB for the actual executable and not compressed...
After Installation I just copied the exe file . language folder from the installatin folder & uninstalled the program. The exe file is now just 1.5MB & works fine

I can't stand Acrobat, and pretty much all Adobe software. It's annoying enough that I have to have Flash player installed. So I tried Foxit Reader for a while, and while I liked how it was much less bloated than Acrobat, I noticed it had some stability problems on some of the computers that I installed it on. Sometimes it would crash the web browser, or leave active processes hanging in the background.

Eventually I switched to Sumatra PDF, and have had no trouble with it. In fact, it's even smaller than Foxit.

Another nice program that I came across is Scan2PDF. It's a small program that will create PDF files directly from papers that you scan. It lets you rearrange images inside of your PDF file also.
