Fresh Paint update for Windows Blue spotted in Microsoft Research video

Windows Blue has caught the attention of many Microsoft fanatics as it is the next installment to the Windows 8 platform. We have heard quite a few things about the upcoming update to Windows 8 but today we get an early look into the next gen platform.

MSFTKitchen has dug up a video that shows the new version of Fresh Paint that will likely be shipped around with or around the time Windows Blue lands. The video, posted above, is 8 minutes long but the demo does not kick-off until around 5 minutes into the presentation.

While the app looks similar to the Fresh Paint version out now, there is a new inclusion of water colors that interact with the medium where they are painted and the ability to import images and transform them into water color paintings.

In the video you can hear the team talk about Blue, surely, they are referring to Windows Blue but it is unclear if this demonstration is running on Windows Blue or vanilla Windows 8.

Seeing that this application looks polished, it raises our hopes that Blue will arrive in the near future with some saying it could arrive this summer.
