Game publisher Activision has released crisp new screenshots from the first-person shooter Soldier of Fortune 2. According to the game publisher, the sequel will deliver “intense action and mind-blowing QUAKE III Arena-powered graphics.” Featuring advanced artificial intelligence as well as real-world weapons and enemies, Soldier of Fortune 2 puts people in the role of John Mullins, a consultant for a top-secret anti-terrorist group. As Mullins, gamers set out on missions that include hostage rescue, intelligence gathering and all-out destruction. Furthermore, in order to complete their goals, virtual mercenaries will have to use a number of tactics ranging from full frontal assaults to stealth and subterfuge. Soldier of Fortune 2 is expected to hit retail shelves this winter.

WARNING: IMPORTANT SAFETY RECALL NOTICE

Dear Compaq Business Partner,
In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission
(CPSC), Compaq Computer Corporation announced a worldwide voluntary
recall and replacement program for approximately 1.4 million AC
adapters used with certain commercial notebook computer products.
Compaq customers affected by this recall and replacement program will
be eligible to receive a replacement AC adapter for each recalled
adapter. These AC adapters were distributed worldwide in notebooks, as
separate options, and as replacement spares for the following
notebooks:

* Armada M300 * Armada 110
* Armada M700 * Prosignia 170
* Armada E500 * Prosignia 190
* Armada E500s * Notebook 100
* Armada V300 * Presario 800 (South Korea only)
* Armada 100s * Armada 3500

Exceptions:
* Taiwan, PRC, and Hong Kong: the recall does not include the
Prosignia 170 and Prosignia 190
* Japan: the recall does not include the Armada 110

This recall and replacement program involves AC adapters made by only
one of the multiple manufacturers used by Compaq; thus, not every
notebook computer listed above will be affected by the recall. The
affected AC adapters can be identified by the adapter Model Series
Number located directly under the Compaq Computer Corporation name on
the AC adapter label.

* Model Series PPP003SD
* Model Series PPP003
* Model Series PP2012

This recall and replacement program only affects AC adapters with the
above listed Model Series Number, not the notebook computers
themselves. It is imperative that affected customers be notified of
this recall. Notebook users who ordered an affected notebook, option
AC adapter, or spare AC adapter between September 1998 and July 2001
may be eligible for the AC adapter replacement program. Affected
customers must be notified to discontinue use of the recalled adapters
and to order replacement adapters at no charge immediately. Please
forward the attached customer letter to your customers/clients who
have ordered the affected products. The Consumer Product Safety
Commission requests that the envelope containing the letter be
conspicuously marked with the words "IMPORTANT SAFETY RECALL" in bold
letters. Compaq apologises for any inconvenience this may cause you
and your customers. Product quality and customer satisfaction remains
paramount to Compaq's mission. For more information on the recall and
replacement program call Compaq on 1800 252 277 or visit our website
