- I cant wait.. I surrender my freetime (and supposed school and work time) to it already also, why do people keep saying ff8 was so awesome? ff8 sucked. ff6 was the greatest, followed (in no order) by ff2 and surprisingly ff10

- ok FF8 was somewhat tedious, but FF7 was by far the best game/rpg I have ever played. The story line completely immerses you in the game, with Cloud, Tifa, Ariel, Barrett etc... an awesome game.

- i agree taht ff7 was excellent... the story was pretty tight, with a big blend of different cultures and elements that captivate you... didn't really get into 8 that much, and 9 was pretty good, but no the greatest... 6 was also very excellent, and in my favoite of the series. i like 10, but i didn't like the fact that i didn't get to actaully play it that much in comparison to pressing circle most of the time. =) i hope 11 can mix that feeling of involvement with online gameplay, a very hard feat to accomplish i would imagine.

- FF7 was brilliant.... but I REALLY didn't like FF8, it just didn't have the same level of gameplay and they tried to make it too true to life. I just wish that they'd release them on PC again after the abysmal release of FF7 [which I still got but it's very buggy].

- Goody, another ridiculous MMORPG with a million "cloud/aeris/tiffa/etc/etc/etc/etc/etc" variants. Boy, can't way to see this pos hit the fan. As for the FF series... FF1 for NES = r0x FF2 for SNES = r0x FF3 for SNES = r0x (and by far the best) FF7 for PS = good (I dont like people with club-like appendages) FF8 for PS = piece of crap. This pathetic !@#$! should never have been released in the US FF9 for PS = pretty good, "sort" of went back to their roots FF10 for PS2 = TBD, nice to see them finally bring back magic though (so I hear) FF11 for ?? = laugh, another game with a million kiddies and servers where half the people don't speak english. If only you could freely kill players...

- omg good FF8 owned. i'll agree with the review's assesment and say that FF8 was one of the best games made. Your all smoking that crack to say the game was a piece of crap. I bet all of you didn't like the fact, the characters model were big. Yes, very shocking to have human beings being tall in a video game. If that is the case, all of you will hate FFX

- With a dragon ball name like br0lly, and the fact that theres a 0 inside the name, also the fact that you can't even capitalize your I's ... all lead me to believe the fact that you have a negative IQ. Only someone with your intelligence could have enjoyed Final Fantasy 8.

- I actually prefered the Sega Saturn variant which appeared as one of the consoles final games [£40 as well.... glad they don't charge that for games now
]. The graphics were OK in game [fully 3D with 360 degrees rotation of the camera] and the battles were amazing. It was also due to be a 3 part game but Sega f*cked up and only released the first part in England... annoying seeing as how when you complete it, it sets the plot for the next episode.
The only game on the Saturn that was actually worth paying for [along with Burning Rangers.... which I never got].
I think the reason people don't think much of FF8 is because FF7 was SO much better. I mean it wasn't the worst game I've ever played [Daikatana springs to mind] but it certainly wasn't very 'fun' to play.
I also like Civilization 3 though, so you might as well just ignore everything I've just said....

- Final Fantasy 8 was terrible compared to every other release, but having played every ff since the first one the NES, I can safely say that FFX is a fantastic game. People should go and pick ii up and give it a fair shot. As to FFXI, I am keeping my fingers crossed, but I heard that FFX was to be the last single player FFX with somewhat linear storyline. I personally hope not. Online RPG's are good and all, but good storytelling is often amiss in the genre. Hope they don't do away with the tried and true formula just yet.

- FFI was pioneer. Great! FFIIj was good but I never got far. FFIVj/II was one of the greatest games in history, along with Chrono Trigger. FFVII was a barrier-breaker and did a good job at it. FFVIII was not very involving - very difficult to "relate" to the characters as had been done in the past. I liked the setting for FFIX a lot. It was more enjoyable and nostalgic. It was, however a tad(just a tad) more juvenile than the previous FF's had been. Yet to play FFX. Looking forward to FFXI though.

- i'd like to thank Cloudsuper for grammatically correcting me over the internet. Oh yeah, when you spell someones name, you use capitalize the first letter of the name. Also, a negative IQ isn't possible, you could of come up with something more realistic with that high IQ i bet you have

- none of this matters anyway, Xenogears was better then final fantasy 7 anyway, and xenosaga will be out in japan next month.

- I have been playing FFX for 20 gameplay hours now, and the game is incredible. However (yes), I think that there is not enough exploring and fighting so far. I would like to keep all the cinematics and get somemore action in. Anyone else have an opinion on FFX.

- Final Fantasy III aka Final Fantasy VI IS THE BEST of the series so far any super nintendo veteran will tell you this i feel sorry for the folks who play FF7 on the PS first and THEN play FFIII after and thought the FFIII graphic suck and didn't feel like playing it. you have to start from the bottom!!!!!!

Blurb from the review: This is one game that will have a lot to deal with. All of its predecessors were excellent, Final Fantasy VIII was, and still is, one of the best games ever made. So how can you possibly improve upon perfection? Well, this is Squaresoft we are talking about; they have decided to create a massively multiplayer RPG for the PS2. Cripes. Talk about taking the bull by the horns...
This game, no matter how you look at it, will be groundbreaking. It will be astounding. This game should, in theory, take over your life.
