For the hostages it'll all be over by Christmas, as Sierra announces an end of year release for Counter-Strike: Condition Zero
Counter-Strike: Condition Zero was originally slated for spring, then pushed back to summer, and now, via an updated release schedule, Sierra has revealed in that it won't be with us until November. Bah.
Reason for the delay is unknown, and when contacted earlier today a spokesperson for Sierra UK would give no comment. However, knowing Gearbox and Valve, it's probably got something to do with giving us a well-polished title that oozes quality out of every corner.
Sadly, 2002 is a year plagued with first-person shooter delays, and Condition Zero now joins the likes of Unreal 2 and Unreal Tournament 2003, becoming a further knife-twist in the guts for fans of the genre. Hopefully, keeping in mind that all these titles will be honed to near perfection upon release will be some kind of sweetener.
Counter-Strike: Condition Zero is the Gearbox/Valve Software project that is bringing hugely popular Half-Life multiplayer MOD Counter-Strike to the single-player masses. Introducing a whole host of new features including new weapons, model skins, objectives, levels and more, the powers that be are obviously hoping that it will appeal as much to fans of the MOD as to the uninitiated.
