"Recently The Sims Online team achieved our Alpha milestone for our next play test version. We will be starting an internal test within EA very soon and use this internal testing to prepare ourselves for our first external test.
In about a month, we will be opening up The Sims Online to external testing. People who subscribe to The Sims Online newsletter will be randomly selected and offered the opportunity to participate in the Play Test. This test will grow from a few hundred to over 50,000 players in the next few months, so be patient if you are not immediately selected. When you are selected, you will receive an email invitation with a link to a Web site where you can order the CDs. You can order one set of CDs per invitation. We will be charging $5 to offset the shipping and handling for the two-CD set."
btw- congrats to anyone in the Uk doing exams this week -and good luck to all those with gcses next week :D
Landscape Options
- The import image wraparound problem is now rectified in the majority of cases.
- Custom terrains now don't get their objects reset to a very low number.
- Fixed duplicate reference of "Tribal" terrain.
Front End- Double mouse clicks are now treated as single clicks where convenient, for example when paging through a list box of schemes or maps.
Network- Game schemes can now include super weapons, as long as the host has “Full Wormage”.
- Now possible to scroll through message chat lists via a mouse wheel, the list must be initially clicked upon and the scrolling is set at one line per wheel bump.
Network Lobby Chatting- Much improved quick-messaging of people in the lobby, host/join and in-game chats.
- Current message typed is retained, while the recipient of the message can be changed. In host/join, the right mouse button now achieves this.
- An /ignore command function is now available for the WormNET lobby which will highlight a name in red and is useful to combat spammers. Typing /ignore alone will clear all ignores.
- People to whom you've spoken privately and the messages typed can now be recalled.
