- Yet another moron too stupid enough to control himself. Anyone who defends this guy or blames the video game industry for this is a COMPLETE DIP$HIT.

- I think it's a bit harsh calling him a moron and that he's stupid #2 especially since you don't really know what went on that night where he checked in for the 86 hour gaming session. He might have a mental illness, his parents might have just divorced, a loved one might have passed away or really hurt him, etc etc. Naturally gaming 86 hours is stupid, but mm, well, you get my point. Have a little more respect for the dead.

- haha, i still think its funny, maybe im sick, but oh well. I wonder what game he was playing too, that would be stupid to blame the game and game developers for this, but im sure they will get blamed. "Your game was too good, people are dying playing it too long, make games less good" lol, thats funny

- As a LAN Party person, i must say that spending more than 24 hours non stop on a computer is not a good idea. Actually, during our home lans, we DO sleep a tad, and go for walks so we can go buy donuts around 4 am at the local dunkin donuts. It's sad how they all taste like crap because they're all dried and nobody cares about noctural people.

A 24-year-old South Korean man died after playing computer games nonstop for 86 hours, police said yesterday.
The jobless man, identified by police only by his last name Kim, was found dead at an Internet cafe in Kwangju, 260 kilometres southwest of Seoul, they said.
Quoting witnesses, police detective Oh Myong-sik in Kwangju said the man had been virtually glued to the computer since late last Friday and had no decent sleep and meals.
The man collapsed in front of the counter early yesterday but soon regained consciousness. He then went to the toilet where he later was found dead, the police officer said.
Initial investigation ruled out the possibility of murder, police said. An autopsy was planned.
South Korea is among the world's most Internet-savvy nations with more than half of its 47 million people having access to the Internet. South Korea has some 22,000 Internet cafes, also known as PC rooms.
Many PC rooms are open 24 hours, but no minors are allowed after 10 pm.
New Skin
In addition to the corona skin being the new default WMP9 skin (called 9seriesdefault) they have included a smart new skin called Quicksilver (screenie below) look for it in the Skin Browser. Corona is now resizeable and many visual bugs have been fixed
Known Issues
Personal Firewall issue: If you have a personal firewall product installed on your computer, in some cases Windows Media Player fails to receive content over a network and in other cases the Player may crash when trying to receive streaming content. The problem is related to the firewall software that is not yet able to handle new Windows XP and Windows .NET Server networking APIs. Windows Media Player 9 Series Beta Refresh (build 2800) addresses this issue.
Surround Sound Speaker Setting issue: If Windows Media Player starts to play audio but there is no sound, check to see if your speaker settings are set to Surround Audio. There is a known issue in Windows Media Player 9 Series Beta where the Player may crash when you play regular stereo or mono WMA content while your speaker settings are set to Surround. Even if the Player does not crash, you still won't hear any audio. Windows Media Player 9 Series Beta Refresh (build 2800) addresses this issue.
