Experience incredible multiplayer gameplay, as the Multiplayer Beta Test code for IGI2: Covert Strike goes public at 2pm (GMT) Friday 10th January 2003.

Gameplay in the multiplayer demo reflects the stealth and tactical approach of the single-player game. Reconnaissance elements provide for a new style of First Person Shooter multiplayer gaming, blending stealth and surveillance with action and gunplay.

Delivering dynamic multi-objective team-based combat, gameplay pits IGI (Institute for Geotactical Intelligence) operatives against the Conspiracy terrorist group. This public Multiplayer Beta Test calls for stealth and weapon skills to sabotage an old mineral plant that terrorists are using as a cover to extract uranium for covert weapons manufacturing.

The single player demo will be available on January 16th and the official release is set for February.

The name of Windows Server 2003 changed several times during its development. Microsoft told me this week that the change to Windows Server 2003, and away from Windows .NET Server 2003, was made in response to partner and customer feedback. The company is moving toward a branding strategy for its products where ".NET Connected" is the moniker Microsoft uses to identify products that "enable customers to easily and consistently connect disparate information, systems, and devices to meet their people and business needs, regardless of underlying platform or programming languages." Microsoft will use this branding on its own products, and will allow software partners that meet certain criteria do so as well.

you have to register to DL the game but it the servers are fast. I got it at about 200K and am installing right now to see if it has any promise. Ishmael

Not a bad game but I hate that you have to buy weapons like in Counter-Strike. Makes the game more tedious.
