Thanks ooo for this one. Tampa Bay area technology company, Infinium Labs Corporation, will develop and market a new game console that will outperform the XBOX, Sony Playstation II, and GameCube.

The company plans to market a high performance gaming console and delivery system to provide consumers with options and capabilities that are not available in today’s marketplace. The console will appeal to the hard-core gamer and the high end consumer electronic purchaser. This next generation game console provides a robust, fault tolerant delivery system that supports games on demand, game rentals, game demos, seamless upgrades and patch management. The game console is an “ALWAYS ON BROADBAND DEVICE.” It is easy enough for children to use independently yet so advanced it exceeds the needs of hard-core gamers.

· Fastest console on the market
· Broadest selection of preloaded games
· Cross Platform capabilities
· State of the art design and architecture
· Advanced accessories and wireless capabilities
· Online connectivity for multi player gaming
· Seamless upgrades and patch management
· A multi tiered subscription service that meets the needs of casual, moderate and hard-core game players
· Demo games before purchasing or subscribing
· Games on demand
· Game Rentals

looks cool - read the rest at the link.

i have an unsettling feeling that this is either an elaborate hoax or it'll never see the light of day

I agree. When it's on the shelves then I'll believe it. Otherwise...

If it sees the light of day, it'll fail due to mass pirating. It sounds like a PC in a box, more so than the Xbox since it sounds like it will play PC games...too bad for them.

LOL They are prolly gona be like MS and tweek it just above all the rest of the systems, so it actully is better, but only by .01%. O man, this thing will be modded, hacked, and pirated out the ying yang.

There is no doubt in my mind this will crash and burn (if it's even real). I myself have never ordered a pay-per view movie so what makes them think I am going to "pay per play" a game. I don't think so. When I buy something I like to see the physical evidence of it for some reason.

It originaly was a special DVD player that let you watch special DivX movies...BUT...the catch was that you had to hook it up to a phone line inorder to watch it. You could watch it for a week, before you had to pay another "rental" fee. I.e. - you had to pay for movies that you bought and paid for... ...this thing is gonna fail MISERABLY...plus they need to fire their concept designer b/c the concept design is F#CKING UGLY!!!

All of the pictures of it look like Photoshop mockups, not a real image (not just the shadows and reflectons). This doesn't look too convincing right now, but it'll be cool to see if it pans out. They probably don't offer it, but stock in this company coudl be a good idea for someone with some extra cash.?

It would be hell mad though if it actually waz real. This is the type of thing that i have been wanting to come on the market, something to play games from all the different consols. I havn't actually EVA had a consol in my life, only a PC, and that is because there are games on all the consols that i like and i never really got arround in deciding with what one to get.

You have to get permission from Nintendo, Sony or M$ to develop games for the system, and the games have to be sent to them to make sure it gets their approval. If the console is able to play games all the systems, I would probably assume that lawsuits are gonna start popping up.
