It's official, Take-Two Interactive Software is proud to announce Max Payne 2: The Fall Of Max Payne, the next installment in the blockbuster Max Payne franchise.

Developed by Remedy Entertainment, Max Payne 2: The Fall Of Max Payne for the PC is expected to hit retail shelves Fall 2003.

When Max Payne debuted in July 2001 as an award-winning, best-selling PC game, it revolutionized the action genre with its cinematic combat sequences fueled by the groundbreaking use of slow motion and compulsive narrative-driven gameplay. Later that year, console audiences were equally impressed by the stylish, urban, revenge-driven story of a fugitive cop with nothing to lose. Now, the highly anticipated Max Payne 2: The Fall of Max Payne for the PC will be unveiled to an extremely select audience by invitation only at this year's E3.

The Title says Rockstar, but the text and loga indicate it's a Take2 product. Somebody guzzling the wine again.

Max Payne was one of those PERFECT games, and we get only 1 or 2 of those every 5 years or so.. from the extra cool story, narrative and the way it was delivered, to the revolutionary engine, graphics, gameplay and just plain fun factor.. i was completely immersed in the MP story (the dream and drug sequences RULED!!) and couldnt put down the game for months in a row.. i STILL play it every once in a while and awe at the incredible gfx engine.. it spawned an incredible mod community thats still going strong (if a bit frustrated), and im sure the sequel will nothing but reinforce this, and many a factor i mentioned, as well.. i seriously cant wait for this one, as its even prior on my list than DoomIII or Half Life 2.. "He had a baseball bat and I was tied to a chair. Pissing him off was a smart thing to do." how can you not LOVE this game!?

Hell Yeah... I was at first worried Remedy might not be the developer like they were with the first game since the game changed publishers. Good News.
