You've most likely already seen it on one of the many sites that have posted "shaky-cam" versions of what they witnessed at this years E3, but we've finally got our hands on the official version which is of significantly better quality.

#1.1 wuzz on 26 May 2003 - 12:28
works fine for me :/ 1153 KB/s
#1.2 Knight' on 26 May 2003 - 12:38
geez, that's FAST
#1.3 Jstphish on 26 May 2003 - 21:15
That is fast for that server. I only got 350kB/sec here. Fastest I've ever downloaded on the internet (not including the network at home) is 1,500kB/sec from a Japanese site ... yeah, I'm in Virigina, U.S.
#1.4 gadean on 27 May 2003 - 11:59
Uhh... are you sure you didn't mean 1500Kb? (Kilobits) KB stands for KiloBytes which would mean that you're downloading 1.5MB every second, or at 12,000Kb, or at 214x the speed of a dial-up modem.
Even on a very high-speed connection (such as a OC-4 it is extremly rare to archieve such download speeds on the internet.
1500Kb, however, is a bit more believable. It is common for home connections such as cable modems to be capped at this speed. (this would be 187KB or about 27x the speed of a dial-up)

Kb=kilobits
KB=kilobytes

3 months ago I would say "WOW", but with the recent Half-Life 2 media Im going to say "it looks good, but hl2 is more attarctive in my eyes"

I agree.
#19 Sawyer12 on 26 May 2003 - 21:05
What kind of graphics card will u need for that. as for the speed 2/3 k Constant i havent downloaded this i will wait for the game.
#20 Jstphish on 26 May 2003 - 21:12
Not a bad video. Can't say that I am all that impressed though. It's Doom with a facelift (a very big facelift!) but same gameplay as the original. It's a no-brainer gorefest. Not thought involved to play (at least that's what the video suggests to me). Should be fun to play for a while, once you get it, though. I don't see the reply value being very high ... but maybe I'm wrong. We'll see.

On average, constant rate of 345-355kB/s. Only took about 1min 30 sec ... I love cable!

#22 IncomT65 on 26 May 2003 - 21:52
to me HL2 > Halo 2 > Doom III
#23 nacs on 26 May 2003 - 22:09
That's server is on a great connection--I'm getting 130KB/s steady(top speed for my DSL). Maybe NW should move to that line.
#24 Filicide on 26 May 2003 - 23:18
You always get top speeds from bygames

Trailer looks awesome.

doom3 will just scare the crap out of u and show off the use of shadows and sounds to creep you and and raise the bar on how to scare, half life 2 will raise the bar on in depth story lines that actually make sense, and be able to draw you into the game, and be the next big thing with modders, and halo 2 will raise the bar for console fps games once again and whatnot.
#25.1 [saint dark] on 26 May 2003 - 23:54
I dont know about the creepiness in the sound since Trent Reznor left the project
#25.2 Filicide on 27 May 2003 - 11:32
Trent has not left the project

#28 btallack on 27 May 2003 - 04:22
Wow. I've never been so creeped out by a game since the original Doom.
#29 GL_RandomHero on 27 May 2003 - 06:38
Link doesn't work for me.

And I have seen a direct Feed Video already... I was thinking maybe this one might be a different video, or a larger video size.
#30 iczman on 27 May 2003 - 06:50
I thought John Carmack said Doom ]|[ isn't the kind of game that will appear on E3 twice in a roll....?
#31 acidburst on 27 May 2003 - 09:46
I cant tell you how much I am looking foward to Doom 3. Ive been following it since the earliest sneak peeks....

And although Half Life was good, I have yet to play a game that scared me as much as the original doom....**** cant remember how old i must have been.

I think the last version of doom I played was called Final Doom for PS1...

man do i miss doom.
#32 acidburst on 27 May 2003 - 09:55
