Xbox Live will be sporting a new interface in late August.

Microsoft has made an official update to its site detailing the Xbox Live dashboard upgrade that will be implemented on August 25. The new dashboard will make it easier to access the friends list, which shows who is online and which game he or she is playing. It will now also be possible to set up a voice-chat session with another Xbox Live user directly from the dashboard, and account information will also be readily available.

bout time they added that voice chat, now they need to have it so you can see whos online via MSN! they are adding support for cellphones and crap so why not msn, looks nice though, new ui. they also need to have it so you can trade games with people, that would be slick

They did mention being able to access your friends list via MSN, I just don't know if they're doing it right away or now.

£20 says that this also fixes the "font" linux/pirate game loading exploit that those geeks threatened Microsoft with a while back.

i know this dashboard upgrade only really matters to live subscribers, but for the sake of being up to date (i'm a patch fiend lol), would I be able to download this new dashboard without a Live subscription by just plugging in my xbox to my cable connection?
