Downloaded it and... well I can't play it, my graphics card doesn't have Pixel Shaders. Time for an upgrade then!

#3.1 NateZ on 22 Nov 2003 - 16:36
...there's a reason its a DEMO and not the full version.
#3.2 vetToxicfume on 22 Nov 2003 - 17:35
Even then, game demo's are usually full featured and supposed to be same as the full functioning final release version of the game, the only differences usualyl are they'll provide a few levels to play..a DEMO, in the gaming world means the actual game, only lacking levels/time/etc for the amount of gameplay. If they release something that is NOT functioning the same way the final is, then it should be labled a PROTOTYPE, a beta, etc.

i'd understand that statement if it went something like this "there's a reason why its a BETA and not the full version." this is a demo, it's a sample of what the final game SHOULD look like. if anything, it should be BETTER than the final game seeing as how it's meant to be used as a promotional tool. de2 demo runs and looks like utter crap as far as I'm concerned. gonna have to wait for a few reviews when the retail hits, 'cause I ain't throwing awaying my money!

OMG, you guys are so funny. Demos are not always representations of finals and I haven't seen one in awhile that was. Heck, I had so many problems with Madden's 2004 demo that when I bought the full version, it cleared up all of my issues. Most of the time, these are pushed out because the community whines about it, or the publisher feels that the game will have lost interest due to being in production for a long time. (Did I hear someone say DN 4?)
#3.5 hobsgrg on 23 Nov 2003 - 01:56
i agree the hud is awful, and a really disappointing demo overall
#3.6 mipra on 23 Nov 2003 - 11:05
And..that's my friend..why they want u to try it out
#3.7 kemical on 24 Nov 2003 - 13:54
actually beta and alpha is what this should have been called.. not demo
#4 BananaMan on 22 Nov 2003 - 16:39
Remember, the demo of Deux Ex 1 wasn't particular impressive either. Lets just hope this ones turns out to be okay *fingers crossed*

well, no matter how the demo plays, the included thief trailer makes it worthwhile. Go to options -> extra
#6.1 Vasquez on 22 Nov 2003 - 21:47
Only thing is, that trailers been out for ages...
#6.2 Niels on 22 Nov 2003 - 23:14

#7.2 i like chips on 23 Nov 2003 - 04:42
lol yeah it's pretty short. i can't remember how long but it was in a span of 2 days :/ had a potention to be a great game but waaaaaay too repetitive.
#7.3 Niels on 23 Nov 2003 - 09:47
all the cutscenes and ingame movies add up to about 2 hours lol
#7.4 Gary_Player on 27 Nov 2003 - 15:57
Yes, boys and girls, its called sarcasm...one day when you grow up you might be able to understand it, and maybe, if you get REALLY smart, you might even learn to use it yourself
#8 stncttr908 on 23 Nov 2003 - 16:36
Crap. Hopefully this doesn't relfect the entire game, but I have that gut feeling that it does.
#9 Niels on 23 Nov 2003 - 16:49
The interface is really sluggish, its very unfriendly compared to the very intuitive Deus Ex interface. It looks like a cheap rehash of the previous masterpiece.
#10 Sheep o' Death on 23 Nov 2003 - 18:27
hopes hopes hopes the full game is better
#11 SimplyPotatoes on 23 Nov 2003 - 23:05
wow im disapointed how unfortunate *

#13 vetmalebolgia on 24 Nov 2003 - 09:01
There's just something that bugs me abou this game, but I don't know what
#14 YaZoR on 24 Nov 2003 - 11:04
Deus Ex was great!

I think this shows that Daikatana is actually not the most dissapointing game made. :
#15 CountStex on 26 Nov 2003 - 10:39
Anyone understand what the bleem/gleem option is in the graphics settings?? Is it some iwered way of getting an AA effect for those with cards that don't no it nativly?
#16 MindfreeZe on 26 Nov 2003 - 14:11
I couldn't play it either, requires pixel shader 1.1 and ****ty geforce 4 mx series doesn't have it!
