As expected it'll be called San Andreas and it'll be a PS2 exclusive
Rockstar have announced that the next game in the Grand Theft Auto series will be subtitled San Andreas and that it will be released in the UK on 22 October. The PS2-exclusive game will hit shelves in the US three days earlier.
San Andreas - which first got a mention in the original GTA game on PSone - has widely been rumoured to be the setting of the next GTA game for well over a year and Rockstar registered the name with the US Patent and Trademark Office just before Christmas.
"In the past couple of years, we have put an enormous amount of pressure on ourselves to ensure we do everything possible to exceed people's expectations with Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas," says Rockstar president Sam Houser. "Even though we still have eight months to go, we are starting to become very proud of what we have achieved and we can't wait to get the game into players' hands."

exactly.. ps2 has bad grphx
I'm wondering if it might have something to do with the UK release date for said double pack being broken and several stores selling it before Sony's contract with Rockstar expired at the end of 2003, rather than on 2nd January like was supposed to happen.
Either way, Rockstar you have stupids.
seems Rockstar forgot about their roots.. GTA started on the PC, and making GTA: SA PS-exclusive is a kick in the balls for the PC community..
this sucks
now what PS2-exclusive means is that it will be only and yes, exclusively, for the PS2.. kiss PC and X-Box goodbye...
so uh 1+1, carry the 2, devide by 3, carry the 4... hmm sounds like ps2 EXCLUSIVE to me.. ps2 sucks
Now what I'm really wondering is if hippies and gays are going to get as offended as the haitians did. I'm hoping that Rockstar won't hold anything back because if they do then the game will suck. Maybe in this one they'll have transvestite hookers like there are on Polk street in San Francisco; now that'd be real funny. They could have it to where sometimes when you pick up a hooker she'd turn out to be a tranvestite, you'd freak out and hit your head as you're jumping out of the car, and then you'd pass out from the concusion and end up at the hospital without any money because the tranvestite hooker took it all.
GTA: SA will probably come out on the PS2 first, then followed by the other platforms some time later.
