We've finally managed to track down the first ever trailer of Final Fantasy XII, the next instalment of the legendary RPG series.

the article says that a three-person party is the 'norm' for the series.

What are these fools smoking? Let's see. There have been 10 games, leaving out X-2 and XI. How many of them had a three person party? 2. VIII and X. Possibly IX, it's been a while since I played that one, but I'm pretty sure IX had a 4 person setup.

QUOTE
up to three characters participate in the fighting

it says in battle... read again... the last FFhave had 3 persons only fighting at a time...

it doesn't say about the amount of characters on the party...

Jack is talking about the number of characters fighting at once... Read his post again. If he meant there were 4 characters in the party, that's BS, because FF6 had 14 I think, FF7 had 8 I think, FF8 had... The point is, he IS talking about the number of characters fighting at once.

FFVII had a 3-person party too.

Most old school (the only good ones) FF games had 4 person parties.

Wow, looks like they're going back to the classic style of FF gameplay. I can finally pick up a FF game and enjoy it again!

What was wrong with FFX?
Quote this comment #9.2 Posted by gameguy on 18 Mar 2004 - 20:14
FFX just didn't feel like a Final Fantasy... I don't know exactly what it was, but the voices certainly were counter to what the series is.

And FF11, God, why not call it Final Fantasy: Online? Numbering it wasn't a good strategy IMO.

Yeah, I agree with this 100%, in ten years time, No one will bother having FF11 in there collection, Because it won't be playable anymore.

Worst dub ever!
The game was pretty and all, I just won't be playing it more then once, the story sucked. God, I think Kingdom Hearts was better then FFX. I tend to think of it as the "Metal Gear Solid: Sons of Liberty" of the FF series and the X-2 looks like "Charlies Angels". I perfer the old school olds but I liked seven and nine- glossed over 8 since after watching my friends play it but IMO FF: Tactics is one that I treasure most
With that said I don't quite understand your last comment because I'm still pissed that she died with alot of cool stuff I put on her before that fight
