- eeeeeeeek, OnSlaught is one of the worse modes of UT 2004 too lol , playing that mode and getting my ass kicked so bad makes me almost wish i didn't buy the game but neah, i still like the overall game

- It's by far the BEST mode of game play in UT2k4, tho it def takes much more strategy than the other modes. Sounds like u just need to practice.

- true, it seems i suck at every mode of the game now
i use to be good in UT 2003 :/ but most of it is just UT 2003 with a UT 2004 name so i am not too enticed into practicing much. oh and Far Cry pisses me off, i am on the helicopter part and have died like 40 times. i sometimes wonder who guages the AI. -

Heh, you really need practice then. They tuned up the AI in 2K4 so it's a lot harder on God-like difficulty. The way it should be.

- It took me a while to get used to it but I like onslaught now...except when you're the only good player on your team

- I think onslaught is really good. I normally just play the demo of online games but I am considering buying it just for the onslaught mode.

- UT 2004 is what 2003 should have been. '03 just felt sluggish and slow. ONS mode is great, but I been playing battlefield 1942 for over a year now so it's a nice change.
In Far Cry -- Use the machine gun on the bow of the boat, cut that chopper down quick.QUOTE oh and Far Cry pisses me off, i am on the helicopter part and have died like 40 times. i sometimes wonder who guages the AI.

- Loved the UT original, hated the 2003, love the 2004. All I ever play hardly is Onslaught, but Assault mode is great too, kinda under-rated.

- Microsoft? what has microsoft got to do with UT?
Onslaught has to be the best gametype. You got the veichles, strategy etc.
If you look at the stats, onslaught is by far the most played (18,573.6 hours logged by servers with stats enabled)
and strangley, the most played level is the one that came with the demo :p -

- The Microsoft XP Extras program is for real, I remember Planetside was up for free download a little while ago as a part of it, and haven't there been extra levels for games like Tron on the same thing?
The news item was posted on Gamespot on 31st March, not April 1st btw....

- There is already enough Onslaught maps, I hope they add some more Assault maps in the Digital Extremes Bonus Pack.
-
#19 Posted by nookadum on 01 Apr 2004 - 16:41
- The reason why there are more Assault maps than Onslaught maps is because Assault requires the use of precise scripting, since it is a mission-based mode.

- Deathmatch rocks. All other modes are for the weak and skill less.

- Hahaa...
You try playing Onslaught on public servers, where the only thing other people on your team are interested in is riding around in the bloody Leviathan / Goliath. They don't seem to realise that it's not about killing people, it's capturing nodes and defending them. The Leviathan is THE slowest vehicle and I've seen about 3 people jump into one, right at the beginning of a level - where the trick is capturing nodes, fast and quick. I'm leader of a UT2004 clan at the moment, and it's so hard to find people to recruit who don't vehicle-camp and who care less about team-play...
