Do we mean summer as in 4 seasons or the 'fiscal' summer?

If they mean fiscal, we may not see this until the end of September. Sadness.

I think they mean "summer" as in "whenever we feel damn ready, but we'll say summer just in case we happen to complete it then." :p

it'll be out next month

Not that you have a shred of anything but online vendors shipdates to back up that statement. Unless, of course, you happen to be on id's payroll.

Not gonna hold my breath on that one. Nice optimism though! Keep it up!

Funnily enough I've been thinking before June 30 for sometime now. This is an nZone featured game and new nVidia hardware hits the shelves in June, so the timing seems about right. And with id not at E3 themselves this year, they're obviously busy doing something...

even my Popular Science magazine says it'll scare your pants off once it hits store shelves next month and I've been thinking of june for a while too and now the confirmation...it all adds up nicely.

I wonder how many CD's this will be. I hope that they release a DVD version of this.

I wouldn't doubt it'll get delayed *yet* again.

Watch my prediction come true.

At least we won't be forced to play the horrid X-Box version. They made it look like crap and it STILL can't run decently, even for the E3 trailer.

Well they tried to fit a big game into 64mb of ram. I surprised it even ran at all.
#6 thenay on 11 May 2004 - 19:29
yay, finally one of the long awaited games is coming out!
#7 chorpeac on 11 May 2004 - 19:44
I'll believe it when I see it on the shelves....

I just hope I can run it.
#8.1 Apollo on 11 May 2004 - 21:21
that's what i'm worried about... running it "decently"
#9 Rishdeep on 11 May 2004 - 20:31
Summer eh? So that'd be ANY time from early June to late August...assuming of course it's not delayed again.

All I know is that we'll see Soldier of Fortune 7 before DOOM3 or Half-Life 2 make it out. LOL
#10.1 99 to Life on 12 May 2004 - 00:16
I bet you we'll see it soon as in next month
#11 csabo2 on 11 May 2004 - 21:15

#12 nic on 11 May 2004 - 21:20
shoot, i hope it will run decent on my system. Really looking forward to this one. I hope it is released in the first half of the summer, because the second half I have summer school and I don't want to flunk out of that.

#13.1 Mav Phoenix on 12 May 2004 - 02:04
Doubtful, I don't even think my GF4 Ti-4600 will run it well.
#14 HappyCar on 11 May 2004 - 21:54
well that would be nice for my birthday
#15 chorpeac on 11 May 2004 - 22:05
I read in the popular science about it, and they were talking PCI Express, and the newest Pentium chips.....It should scale down well though.
#16 Gary_Player on 12 May 2004 - 00:12
ARG! I want it!
#17 JonathanVP on 12 May 2004 - 02:08
Damn!!! Can't wait! By that time, I would have upgraded my computer to a Pentium4, 3.40 Ghz, with 2 gig of RAM and the ATI Radeon X800 video card...woo hoo!!

I have been a hardcore gamer for many years now and I have never seen so many people getting creamed over the anticipated release of Doom3. I like the rest of the gaming population cannot wait for this to be released... I have played on the beta version of Doom3, which was leaked a couple of weeks ago. Although you have to bind your own keys it's quite a frightening game to play it made me jump in a few places and have not experienced this since Half Life back in 1998...

I just hope ID Software does not mess Activision about again because they lost a lot of money when ID Software said they were going to release this last year...?
