Deluxe Sims 2 DVD edition planned

DVD version of the eagerly awaited life-sim sequel will feature a bevy of bonus materials.

Once again, an online-merchant has revealed details of an eagerly awaited game before its publisher. This time around, product pages on EBGames.com and GameStop.com tipped the public to an existence of an as-yet unannounced deluxe DVD edition of The Sims 2. When queried, sources at EA confirmed the listing as "accurate."

Besides the benefits of having the game on a single disc, The Sims 2 DVD Edition will feature a slew of bonus material, including the following (quoted verbatim from the listing):
  • Expert Interviews: 0ver 60 minutes of detailed tips & hints from the designers that made the game. Learn secret gameplay strategies ranging from fulfilling your Sims' dreams, pushing them to extremes, or mixing their Genes. Exclusive tips on evolving their family tree, choosing their aspirations, managing their wants & fears.
  • Film-making 101: Learn how to create your own movies in the Sims 2 from the designer that created the in-game movie-maker. Covers everything you need to know including controlling the camera, tricks for setting up the angles, casting & set development, special effects, saving your films, editing your films, and more.
  • Sims 2 Cinema: Includes a variety of movies created in-game by the developers of the game.
  • Sims 2 Outtakes: Includes hilarious outtakes of the game from the developers. See those hilarious bugs & bloppers that never make it into the shipping version.

I could care less about the interviews. Im looking to play the long awaited game of The Sims 2. But then again this is the deluxe edition so i suppose there will be the normal one too. Will the normal one be on CD(s) or DVD?

The normal one will come on 4CD's while the deluxe comes on one DVD. I think I'll get the deluxe...Amazon says its the same price as the normal one.
