I wonder if they'll show the MacWorld demo they gave. Remember kids, Halo was supposed to be a Mac game as a sequel to Marathon.

I thought Halo 2 was supposed to be a sequel to the first Halo which was in turn a sqeuel to Marathon?
Quote this comment #5.2 Posted by sadatkarim on 13 Jul 2004 - 16:53
Halo 2 on mac? Its not even going to be released on PC..(well maybe not until 2032)
Quote this comment #5.3 Posted by Zepolcire on 13 Jul 2004 - 17:07
If you notice, he did say Halo, not Halo 2.
Quote this comment #5.4 Posted by O'Connor's a Nub on 13 Jul 2004 - 18:44
Halo wasn't a sequel to Marathon. No way no how. Bungie's said so themselves. There's just a lot of little Marathon easter eggs in it.
Quote this comment #5.5 Posted by Starman on 13 Jul 2004 - 19:57
Then explain the Marathon logo in the Halo logo (not the sidesways 'O', the ACTUAL logo in the background, the Marathon logo on the uniforms, the references in the game, the use of Durandal, the Jjaro logo on the Covenant architecture, etc.

Um... I said Bungie themselves denied Halo being a sequel to Marathon. Ask them to explain it. Sorry buddy, Durandal wasn't in it

As I said- easter eggs. I've followed Halo since the Cortana letters. I think I know a little about what I'm talking about.
Quote this comment #5.7 Posted by Starman on 14 Jul 2004 - 12:13
Where did they deny it? It's like saying Empire isn't a sequel to Star Wars, but it has all these "easter eggs" in it.

Try Bungie.com.

It's even in the Halo FAQ.

I played the 1st Halo demo and I wasn't impressed. Am I alone? What does this game have that is so special? Maybe I'm missing something.

A game that is exciting me is S.T.A.L.K.E.R. oh and Diablo 3 also.
Quote this comment #11.1 Posted by sadatkarim on 13 Jul 2004 - 20:44
Read the hands on reviews from E3. Watch the movies from E3. (last E3 and this years E3) Then come back and say you werent impressed.
Quote this comment #11.2 Posted by O'Connor's a Nub on 13 Jul 2004 - 22:06
Halo didn't necessarily have anything special besides the vehicles. It was just the amount of everything that it had that was impressive. It had a huge amount of polish compared to most other shooters at the time, though there were many rough spots. Plus the 16 person LAN play was great.

BTW, I'm referring to the X Box version. The one that came out on PC was a subpar port.

I have never played the XBOX version but have played the PC one and i think it's freakin awesome, what is so subpar about it???
Quote this comment #11.4 Posted by O'Connor's a Nub on 14 Jul 2004 - 17:28
It's not horrible, but they butchered it trying to make use of DX9. Still, I guess higher end vid cards should be able to make it play better than X Box.

Well the source is EUROgamer.net...
Doesn't get much more specific than that

It's old in the US.

And I've heard from other sources that it's been available for preorder in the UK as well as the US. Maybe I misinterpreted.... or else not all of Europe had the same oppurtunity to preorder.
