Electronic Arts will release a special limited edition DVD of The Sims 2 in North America. It will be available at the same price as the CD-ROM version. The DVD will include the full version of the game along with detailed tips from its designers. Consumers will also learn how to create their own movies in The Sims 2 from the designer that created the in-game moviemaker. Owners of the DVD will also be able to view outtakes that feature bugs and bloopers that never made it into the shipping version of the game. The special limited edition of The Sims 2 will also contain a collection of wallpapers and instant messenger icons. The special limited edition DVD of The Sims 2 is available when pre-ordering the game through a major retailer.

Seems like gamemakers are finally realising the potential of DVD and adding extra features/bonuses etc rather than just having uncompressed game data on there.

UT2004 was like this with all it's extras etc. Are there any other games that have extra stuff?

The Sims 2 is going to be a far way better and an awesome game compared to it's predecessor, The Sims and all it's expansion packs(seven). I believe it will surpass it's predecessor superbly, due to what I've seen so far on The Sims 2, what I've read as well. Can't wait to play it, any Australians out there, I've gone to EB store, they told me the Aussie release date for The Sims 2 is September 16th 2004. Going to pre-order it this Friday.
