THQ announced their first quarter 2005 fiscal results Thursday. One of the earings reports had a small blurb about S.T.A.L.K.E.R., the upcoming game by GSC Gameworld based in and around Chernobyl:

For the second quarter of fiscal 2005, the company expects net sales of approximately $82 million and a net loss of about $0.20 per share. Key product releases anticipated for the quarter include WWE(TM) Day of Reckoning(TM) for the Nintendo® GameCube(TM), and Warhammer® 40,000: Dawn of War(TM) and Full Spectrum Warrior for the PC. The company announced that the new original PC title S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow of Chernobyl is now scheduled to ship in the fiscal fourth quarter in order to maximize its sales potential.

"We have strategically scheduled S.T.A.L.K.E.R: Shadow of Chernobyl for PC, Pandemic Studios' Destroy All Humans(TM) for PlayStation 2 and Xbox, and The Punisher(TM), from internal studio Volition, for PlayStation 2 and Xbox for the fiscal fourth quarter, which we believe to be an optimal window for establishing new intellectual properties. In addition, we plan to release WWE(TM): Wrestlemania® XXI for Xbox in the fourth quarter in conjunction with the WWE's Wrestlemania promotional push," said Farrell.

The Pokémon franchise remains as popular as ever. Pokémon has sold more than 128 million video games worldwide, accounting for more than $4 billion in sales. For several weeks in early 2004, Pokémon Colosseum™, made exclusively for Nintendo GameCube™, and its pre-sell bonus disk outsold every software title and video game console on Amazon.com. And in Japan, Pokémon FireRed and Pokémon LeafGreen sold more than 2.5 million units in just over three months.

Pokémon FireRed and Pokémon LeafGreen offer never-before-seen features, including Union Rooms, hubs for social game play where up to 40 players can meet and chat wirelessly to trade and battle Pokémon or just make conversation using chat functions. The games also feature a more colorful and easier-to-use Pokédex that lets users sort their Pokémon in a variety of different ways.

I blame THQ, but I'm a reasonable man and know that GSC are people who have been overworking to try make their September release, so I think it's good that they're probly gonna be allowed to sleep now.

SWEET! I really like it, now I have time to finish Doom3 in August, then HL2 in September, then Stalker.

Stalker + HL2 in the same month would have been over dooing it. (I also think that it's HL2 that has made THQ shift release date for "more profit"

I wouldn't worry about it man, half the stories I post in BPN or Gamer's and submit for news posting are posted by someone else right after I submit them. It happens, no biggie
