Web site features game info, screenshots, and upcoming downloads for LucasArts' tactical action game.

LucasArts has launched the official Web site for its upcoming action game Star Wars: Battlefront, in development at Pandemic Studios. For now, the Web site features a slew of screenshots from the Xbox, PlayStation 2, and PC versions of the game, video trailers, and information on the units and vehicles to be featured in the game. Downloads and community sections are coming soon.

Star Wars: Battlefront is a tactical action game that lets players take part in some of most famous battles from the Star Wars movies and lore. The various engagements will pit the Empire against the Rebels or the Republic against the Separatists, depending on whether the battles are from the original trilogy or recent prequel films. Players can also take the battles online for some Battlefield 1942-style action.

i wonder when they're coming out with a demo to this game...also has anybody heard about them allowing cross platform play between the ps2 and xbox???

I doubt there will be a demo. Neither BF1942 or BFV ever had a demo, and this is the same basic everything, just dressed up like star wars.

lol, BF1942 not only had a demo, it had two demos: a singleplayer demo and a multiplayer demo!

An xbox demo (on the Star Wars Trilogy DVD set, to be released September 21st) is already confirmed, and I wouldn't be surprised if a PC demo came out around that time, too.

ok, i thought it was only a video preview on the trilogy dvd set.

On the Trilogy DVDs, there is the X-Box demo as IG-x89 said, the video preview will be of the Episode III game on the dvds

I just know they'll screw it up. I never buy Star Wars games. They always suck (except for KOTOR).

this game actually looks good and looks like it will play great. although it is just bf1942 with a star wars mod (essentially) it still will be a great game.

Almost any engine would be better than BF1942's; if levels load relatively quickly and the menu actually shows in a decent amount of time (10 seconds to show a menu? Come on; the last game that took even near that long was Jedi Knight I from '97!), then this game could really give BF1942 and even BFV a run for their money .

OMG I remember that! Nostalgia!

I don't like that they have a Days Until Launch Countdown. They may put out the game wven if its not finished when the countdown is up.

EDIT: these textures are horrible! they're so muddy. And the polygon count looks to be awfully low.

if you can, you need to see the hi-res videos of it on IGN, the game looks absolutely amazing. of course graphics are just one thing and i'll hold my judgement on gameplay until i can actually play it.

Thoug it is basicly the same concept as BF1942 type games (if you call this a mod then so is BFVietnam) it is a completely diffrent engine, and there are more classes of infantry from the looks of it. If I can run this on my comp (depends on the system requirements) I will get it. This game stands the chance of being one of the best Games Lucas Arts has released, they have not done any thing like it before, unlike the JK II to JA.
