According to information received by the Kaspersky Virus Lab, Brador was probably written by a Russian virus coder. The Trojan was attached to an email with a Russian sender and Russian text inside. The author was offering to sell the client part for the Trojan to all interested parties, which means that there is a real chance that the backdoor may be bought by somebody who will use it commercially (bot network creation, for instance).

"PDA users face a real danger and we can be sure that the computer underground will snatch at the chance to attack PDAs and mobile phones in the nearest future," added Eugene Kaspersky, "malware development for mobiles is passing through the same stages as malware for desktops: we will probably see a serious outbreak of viruses for handhelds sometime soon."

Kaspersky Labs has already updated the antivirus databases with protection against Brador. A detailed description of Brador is available in the Kaspersky Virus Encyclopedia.

They fixed the weapon-not-firing bug! I've noticed that a number of times recently, but thought it was just my imagination or a weird glitch with my system.

Anybody else having issues with this patch?
#17.1 Ficman on 06 Aug 2004 - 00:23
I had to install previous patch to fix mine, could not get pings back from servers. Could not get into games with this patch... BEWARE of this one...

I love how big game companies make all this money selling thier games but are to cheap to offer the downloads on their own site. Instead you need to either wait 800 days inline at fileplanet or another site, search like crazy for a download that doesn't go 2KB/s, or pay for an account at FilePlanet.

Luckily I have a friend who lets me use his Fileplanet Subscriber account.
#19.1 Martog on 06 Aug 2004 - 02:39
Yeah, i agree, I hate having to wait to patch up the game because they can't afford servers. At least 3dgamers is offering a Bit Torrent link would could provide high speed downloads if everyone keeps seeding, but I think they would rather go update and then go onine fragging
#19.2 elliot on 06 Aug 2004 - 10:52
yeah, epic sure is cheap. those huge bonus packs they release for all there games for free... just so damn cheap.

go **** yourself, why don't you offer to pay for their bandwidth.
#19.3 Ficman on 06 Aug 2004 - 12:13
Yeah they have Servers dedicated to playing their product, updates and bonus packs are free... REALLY cheap company...

Just because they put their patches out on other sites they already do this type of service, and have (for the most part) the bandwidth to support the 1000's of people wanting it all at the same time. That is good planning on Epic's part if you ask me...

UT2004 rocks, I have never had to wait 800 days on anything to patch this game. Rather then Blast Epic how about going to a differnet site for your updates...

#20 darkmatter on 06 Aug 2004 - 01:18
finally got through one of the servers to get the new patch!
#21 matt74441 on 06 Aug 2004 - 01:56
Awesomeness. I'll be ready for some NW2FD action.
#22 IGx89 on 06 Aug 2004 - 02:43
I got it from www.gamershell.com with no lines a few hours ago; I can't stand 3D Gamers, because usually none of their mirrors work except for BT.
#23 SeMz... on 06 Aug 2004 - 09:54
got mine from gamershell
#24 Naveen on 06 Aug 2004 - 13:07
#25 chacho on 06 Aug 2004 - 17:37
