Budget-priced hockey title from Visual Concepts is in stores now; joins NFL 2K5 on shelves at a price designed to compete with EA Sports' brands.

ESPN Videogames and publishing partner Global Star Software (a label of Take Two Interactive) announced today that their hockey title, ESPN NHL 2K5, is now available at retail stores across North America. In addition to the standard game of hockey, the game offers a new Party Mode which features 15 hockey-inspired mini-games. The title, available for the PlayStation 2 and Xbox, supports online play on both systems, and ships at the value price of $19.99.

Communication takes place through your trusted mail servers, and in addition the chat messages are checked by Anti-Virus and Anti-Spam filters.

The Bat! 3.0 has a Bayesian filtering plug-in as a part of the default installation. Bayesian filtering is one of the most effective spam detection algorithms available nowadays. The BayesIt! plug-in also detects URLs used in spam messages, making filtering even more efficient. First, you must train the plug-in by feeding it spam and non-spam messages, then it will do the job for you.

You are now able to connect to Microsoft Exchange Servers using The Bat! via native MAPI protocol to fetch or send messages.

The Bat! 3.0 now has a new MSI-based digitally signed installation package. You can verify the digital signature before installing The Bat! to make sure that the program comes from a trusted source and hasn’t been modified in transit. System administrators now have the ability to deploy The Bat! easily throughout their networks.

its to compete with EA. people buy sports games just off the EA name, espn is going off of this and making their games more affordable. its worked on me, i didnt buy madden this year and for sure will not be buying nhl 2005

EA is not the end all and be all anymore. Their sports games are suffering the same type of bloat that makes people stop using Office XP and switch to Openoffice.org. I don't need to pay extra just so John Madden can cram more 6 legged turkeys down his piehole. I like the ESPN line.

Their marketing idea is great. I used to buy Madden but this year I got NFL 2k5 mainly because of the price. I've played both and ended up liking ESPN better. Madden better be careful.
I will be picking up NHL2k5.
