- Hm, I wonder if Nintendo is paying attention to the launch price of the PSP... or maybe they've already set the price for the DS.
Either way, at least the PSP price speculation crap that's been going on the past few months can finally be put to rest

- Sony seems to just make new consoles that don't sell well for no real reason, other than that they can. Good work.

- Sony makes a killing off of people who buy their junk products.

QUOTE Sony makes a killing off of people who buy their junk products.
Junk? Hardly. I'm not a great fan of Sony, but the products they make aren't junk. Sony is very good at marketing... their console products are no better than others (graphically worse) but they have a large selection of games and a good brand image.
You don't post much that isn't negative, do you?

- Sony sells junk and this will never change.
I am also a positive person but I see things for what they really are. It is not my fault that Sony makes and sells junk.

- Care to provide any evidence to back your claim that everything they sell is junk? I've had nothing but good experiences with any Sony products. Hell, if Sony sells junk, go look at their XBR TV's and then come back to me.

- What? He's right. Comparitively, sony does sell junk. The ps2 has shoddy construction and a really crappy reading laser (a la Disc Read Errors). The XBR tvs are unnecessarily expensive, and their plasma line has inferior black level reproduction and burns in easily. Their cameras are an exception to the rule though.

- Well bb023, I have had two Sony televisions that had serious problems within six months of purchase. Both were sent in for repairs under warranty and now I have one in my garage and the other one I sold to a neighbor.
My third PlayStation is also hooked up to the television in my garage but it seems to work best when placed on its side or flipped upside down. The first two PlayStations I owned both had problems before they were even three months old so I had them replaced. This is how I got to my third PlayStation.
This was more than enough proof for me, Sony products just plain suck.

However, it's almost certain that the company will finally reveal the Japanese release date and price point for the PlayStation Portable, which is still believed to be on track for a pre-Christmas launch in the Far East. The company may also discuss plans for the European and US launches of the console, or at the very least, confirm whether it is still on track to launch in these territories during FY 2005 - or whether the console will be pushed back past March 2005, as some analysts fear.
A more remote chance is that Kutaragi may use the conference as a platform to announce the PStwo, a redesigned PlayStation 2 console which some analysts and retailers in the USA expect to launch next month, after several months of shortages of the original PlayStation 2 hardware in the channel.
The conference may also give some further details of the company's progress towards the PlayStation 3, as the CELL microprocessor - on which the next-generation console will rely - is nearing the completion of its development phase, according to a statement earlier this week from the president of Sony's partner firm Toshiba.
