Electronic Arts has also released new client and server patches for Battlefield 1942, updating the previous 3D multiplayer action game by Digital Illusions to version 1.61b. This release addresses the same undisclosed (but apparently critical) exploit.

heard this is causing a problem with punk buster anyone else know anything

I hope they fixed that spawn bug issue that some people like myself have been having. After spawning a few times, the game does not let you pick your spawn point anymore. Evne if you click a spawn point and the "Set Spawnpoint" button, it still says "Spawnpoint Not Chosen". So frustrating.

ugh, PB NEVER contacts the PB server for me with this update, so I have to play 1.6 still

I wanna play with my claaaannnnn!!!

Hmmm well this vulnerability has to do with CD KEY auth server and hidden data contained within the dedicated server files for Gamespy....too bad the vuln. still exists with DoS attacks .....well I give em another year to touch up on "trying" to fix that one.
