Ray Maguire, boss of Sony Computer Entertainment UK, has commented in an interview with the BBC that prices for the PS2 will not drop before Christmas. This came after rumours swept the Leipzig Game Conference that the giant will cut prices of the console.

Sony is pinning it's hopes on innovative software to drive the PS2 sales this coming Christmas. Titles such as Kinetic, an EyeToy compatible exercise game and Buzz, a music quiz game are tipped to be big sellers over the holiday season.

Millions of people must give a crap, it's bought by the shedload. As are Singstar games, and I image Buzz! will sell loads as well. In this stage of a consoles lifetime they can cater to people who aren't regular gamers. The people who buy Eyetoy games aren't the same person queueing up at 2 in the morning to get a PS3 or an Xbox 360 on launch day.
