- damn i really think blizzard should have waited before they introduced another 20 man and 40 man instance. it's alreayd not enough time to try to do MC and bwl and sometimes zug. add another one to the mix and it just gets crazy. and no telling if they are going to try to introduce a tier 3 set or something.

- They didn't realize Ahn Qiraj yet. 1.9 for that. The Silithus content they are referring to are solo epic quests in the zone, not instance stuff.

- As far as I'm concerned, the druid is still a weak shaman!
Hopefully those with more druidic experience will be able to correct my above statement!

- Woot!
Does anybody know how much longer the maintenance will be going? It's been over an hour after it was supposed to be, but they still are saying that it should be finished shortly...
EDIT: Nevermind. Just opened WoW and they changed the message to say *hopefully* 1PM PDT. Great... I was hoping to get some play time in before work, but that'll give me a max of 30 minutes. And that is IF they do indeed finish up by then.

- Blizzard really does need to clean house of these idiots they have that are involved in this "maintenance". They can never get things done on time. They should just leave the realms up and only reboot when there are problems. Enough of this lame "maintenance", it NEVER improves anything anyways.

- Read this thread and learn the facts before you go off spouting BS like that. PunkBuster does the same exact thing that WoW's anticheat technology does. It's just making sure any processes that are currently running aren't cheat programs. Big deal.

- Now the real fact is that You haven't read the article. I You had You wouldn't wrote what You did.
"I watched the warden sniff down the email addresses of people I was communicating with on MSN, the URL of several websites that I had open at the time, and the names of all my running programs, including those that were minimized or in the toolbar. These strings can easily contain social security numbers or credit card numbers, for example, if I have Microsoft Excel or Quickbooks open w/ my personal finances at the time." -
#9.3 Posted by Dashel on 12 Oct 2005 - 01:03
- Out of curiosity, how does Valve's VAC system compare privacy-wise to PunkBuster or this method Blizz is adopting?
I don't like it but whats a poor Forsaken to do? -

QUOTE I just found Out Blizzard is Bundling pure spyware into WoW
welcome to 3 months ago.. was introduced around 1.5 and there were a lot of threads talking about it.. it causes no harm and no server lag.. the "spyware" sends no packets back to blizzard unless you are hacking.. read through the wow forum archives if you don't belive me...-

you do know that anti-cheat programs check the memory actively in ram which COULD BE all that information. Do you know anything about anti-cheat software?-

- I stopped playing WoW several months ago, before the mentioned patch, I guess I just missed the news then.
........
You are missing the point, this softwware was intended to track down hackers right?
How come then Blizzard takes the right to check what are sites are You opening, to whom You send an eMail, with whom do You chat etc. Maybe these reports aren't being send to Blizz, but that doesnt mean that it has the right to peek at your home window, takes photos, puts them into archive and release them in photo shop in Your town when it finds it fittingly.
How come other MMORPG developers, choose not to use this sort of sniffng soft to fight hackers?

- Servers are back up but this patch messed up countless things.
For one, if you have FSAA enabled (multisampling in the video options), it garbles up all of the text on the screen.
Another problem is it breaks most action bars, along with other mods. A lot of people are without being able to use shortcut keys to use their skills.
This is utter BS on Blizzards part. -
#10.1 Posted by grimman on 12 Oct 2005 - 07:51
- Fixed in Flexbar 1.5b, other addons should follow suit.
You know... whining doesn't help at all. What Blizzard are doing is extending/refreshing the API to allow for better addons and what do you give them? "This is utter BS". Addons break, get over it. You can't expect the API to remain totally unchanged from version 1.0 to 1.8, and if you're REALLY interested in seeing what breaks and what doesn't there are test realms for trying out the new patches. PUBLIC test realms.
Sheesh. -
#10.2 Posted by Forsakenlv05 on 12 Oct 2005 - 17:07
- Sorry, but the FSAA issues were mentioned on the test realms and were even reported as bugs by many people while on the test realms.
I gave them 'utter BS' because they won't listen to people when they tell them there are VISIBLE bugs. Just like how warriors now have an extra talent point.
I guess my meaning was skewed - I wasn't meaning the addons - I know they will be fixed and I know they are implimenting better API's.

- druids still suck bolux
(lvl 60 elf druid) -
#11.1 Posted by Aaronz0rz on 12 Oct 2005 - 01:29
- druids rock, and are an amazing pvp force
you just suck, reroll a rogue like half the noobs in the game -
#11.2 Posted by altermind on 12 Oct 2005 - 08:36
- I'd also like to mention I love my druid and have played it for over 30 + days of actual playtime.. I have most of the cenerian vestiment... and most ppl in PVP run from due to the fact they know I do not lie down and die....
don't presume to know that I a sucky druid... as I assure you I am not.... but.... druids need SOME burst DPS ...... (cat in stealth with ravage is NOT burst dps)
.... so think before you talk.... -
#11.3 Posted by DpwOX545 on 12 Oct 2005 - 13:26
- cenarion vestiment's does not equal pvp gear or damage gear. it is nothing more than an epic healing set. if you want to see burst damage spec at least 30 feral and get the right gear and you will see burst damage. With alright gear i get frequent ravage crits of 1500-1700 on cloth, FB's of 1100-1400 and claw crits of 400-500 damage. basically thats rogue like dps and i only have 866 attack power in cat form. In bear form i have 688 attack power, 5.9k hp, 10.12k ac and i crit on my mauls for 500-700 damage and thats on elites. Druids can be powerful damage dealers as of 1.8 and still be good healers as well. I am spec'd 0/30/21 right now so I can be an effective damage dealer or effective healer with just switching my gear. im at 60 days play time on my druid and really am loving this new patch.

- LoL, you already out DPS mages and you want more burst to go with your ability to heal and survive? Seriously, suck it.

Disturbance at the Great Trees
Something is amiss in the Emerald Dream. Immense dragons with the shimmering emerald scales of the Green Dragonflight have been sighted guarding the portals at the Great Trees... but these once-noble creatures crawl with a new, strange menace, not the peace for which Ysera is known. Bring many allies should you dare to confront them; their powers are formidable and they will not hesitate to crush any who draw near.
The Stirring of the Silithid
The arid sands of Silithus are shifting. Something is awakening beyond the wall to the south... Aid the Druids of the Cenarion Circle as they delve into the mysteries of the desert. Seek answers behind the Twilight Hammer's presence. Discover more about the alien creatures known as the Silithid as you explore their hives. Many new endeavors await the high-level adventurer!
Hallow's End
When the decorations of Hallow's End light up Azeroth's cities, you know there's mischief afoot! Seek special vendors in Orgrimmar or Ironforge and get your hands on treats! Aid a sick orphan in a little trick-or-treating! Deathcaller Yanka, attending the Forsaken's Wickerman Festival, and Sergeant Hartman of Southshore are seeking your aid in keeping the enemy out of their holiday affairs -- are you up to the challenge?
Those are just a few of the new additions and changes in the 1.8 patch. For further information on the patch head on over to the patch notes page (currently listed as the Test-Realm still).
