Age of Empires III has become the fastest selling in the franchise's history according to Microsoft Game Studios and Ensemble Studios. No exact figures were given, but the game has reached platinum status after its release in October.
To celebrate, Ensemble is hosting a contest for fans of the game. The gamer that can reach the Industrial Age the fastest will win a fully decked out gaming PC courtesy of Intel. Second and third place winners will win a GeForce 7800 GTX and GT from NVIDIA respectively.
Players can upload recordings of their games and track the contest's progress on Ensemble's site.
