This forthcoming weekend Valve is giving everyone the opportunity to play their Source-powered WW2 shooter Day of Defeat completely free of charge.
Utilising the Steam platform to its full capability, pre-loading of the game is already underway and users will be able to play from noon PST (8pm GMT) on Friday. Day of Defeat is already available to those who own the silver and gold Half-Life 2 packages, and is available as a standalone product via Steam.
In other Day of Defeat news, Valve recently released a cinematic video demonstrating what their coveted Source engine is truly capable of. "Prelude to Victory" weighs in at 200MB and is available as a free download.
