1up.com is offering up a new shaky cam (read: not the greatest quality) video of Crysis, Crytek's upcoming next-gen Direct X 10 game. As has been reported previously, Crysis is a new intellectual property and has nothing to do with Far Cry - other than coincidentally being based in a jungle. They are offering a streaming video, a Quicktime version which clocks in at about 29 mb and a WMV version which is 20 mb.

Isn't shaky really, but wow it looks amazing. Can't wait.

Shaky cam means it was taken from a camcorder or some other "shaky" thing. Doesn't always mean it actually shakes

Wow! The graphics look amazing! When is it coming out?

Nice!
Damn, DX10 is amazing! Imagine HL3 and Quake5 on DX10!!!

...X
#6.2 DomFel on 23 Mar 2006 - 16:35
Or probably something else, since they need DX10 certified hardware.

This game works in DX9 too. That's likely what you are seeing, not DX10.

Did one of the trees fall down in that combat scene?! I'm speechless.
#7.1 Computer Guru on 23 Mar 2006 - 16:23
Did you play AOEIII?
#7.2 Lee69 on 23 Mar 2006 - 16:56
That game is still very graphically brilliant. When trees are cut down, and upon it landing the whole screen shakes realistically.

It would be even better if the subwoofer was loud enough that it made a big enough THUD to literally shake your screen
#7.4 Audhumla on 24 Mar 2006 - 15:37
Cutting down trees in AOEIII is one thing but this is just on a completely different level of interaction.

looks cool, can't wait to see the actual video, that was kind of dark...

At first I was really excited... then I realised EA had involvement... now I am inredibly dissapointed. Almost anything that EA has a hand in turns to crap
#9.1 flapjackman176 on 24 Mar 2006 - 21:36
usually that holds up to be true but.. this game has little involvement with EA its just because they took over the cry engine. But they will publish it so look for them to steal every buck they can out of this one.

Don't thank DX10. Thank Crytek's amazing Cry-Engine :p
#11 vetSMeK on 24 Mar 2006 - 17:43
WOW

That looks amazing

Shame my pc would probably fall over at even trying to play the game

Here's the same non-shaky cam footage, here.
#13 Marduk on 26 Mar 2006 - 01:24
I can hear my poor video card wimpering now.

Here's another location for the actual video, not the shaky cam thingy
