Microsoft to rock the gaming world with its already established Windows Live. It now aims to integrate XBox into Windows by enabling users to access games from compatible mobile phones and Windows Vista.

"In a demonstration, an Xbox 360 gamer using Live Anywhere was able to send an invitation to a friend on a PC. After the PC user agreed, the two connected for a cross-platform online gun battle."

So you're going to be able to play on your mobile phone against someone on an Xbox?

Great, as if mobile phone service didn't cost enough already. Now Microsoft will try and charge you money for the privilage of playing games on your cell phone. For other fun things to do, I suggst you make up a game with your friends called "How far can I throw my Windows-based cell phone"

I think what they are trying to say is that the Xbox Portable will also be a cell phone? Or maybe they are saying "cell phone" and meaning Xbox Portable

Ant then the keyboard and mouse PC users slaughtered the Xbox users in a FPS game "HeadShot"... Unless Live Anywhere restricts the PC user to a controler only to even the playing field.

Not necessarily, I know a few people who only play console games, so they're a lot better with a controller than they are with a keyboard and mouse.

It all comes down to player preference/skill.

They might be good because they are playing with people who are using controlers, the same handicap as everyone else. There will be a diffrence between a mouse and a controller in a FPS

only advantage i noticed using a keyboard/mouse over controller is that you can enter you name in faster. i cant stand keyboard/mouse for fp shooters

I'm a console guy, but keyboard/mouse does allow for more accuracy (headshot, like has been said). And I don't play PC games.

Woah, that sounds uber bad-ass

I believe the cell phone application will be more for IM's, setup, mangement and such not actual gameplay with PC's and 360's. If you read the enitre article it explains it a little better.

The english language is great you can interpret "Live anywhere" meaning that your able to dwell anywhere or as its meant to be *sigh* good old english.

Anxious to see how this unravels. (Y)
