Just one more of many reasons i will continue my boycott of CS: Source. They just can't get this game right, it's lost any feel of tactical team play that it may have had since the move from 1.6 to Source.

Tactical play? In CS? I thought the purpose is to determine who has the best Aimbot and AWP camping skills. What a shock.

Seriously, I dont think its that bad that valve are actually trying to update the game, for a change.

So without even giving either this beta a chance, or trying the new money system at all, you are writing it off already? I find it quite fresh and actually it does add some nice tactical ideas to the game if you think about it. Not to mention Valve did say this would be one of a few "additions" to CSS over the next while. I doubt very much Valve would be willing to ruin their bread and butter game, regardless how good HL2/Ep1/Ep2 etc sell. CS/CSS are still bread and butter to them.

I dont play much of CS anymore. While there are many players still playing CS(CSource that is), I kind of have to agree that CS as a whole has lost it's whole appeal that it used to have years ago in LAN events all over the world. Especially in asia, where LAN gaming shops are fairly popular, people have simply stopped playing CS all together. I dont even know if many shops in Thailand even bothered to install CSource, so far I haven't seen it anywhere. While the online gameplay still seems popular to a certain degree, I really miss the craze it had in LAN gameplays back in the CS 1.3 to 1.6 days, but since then, eventhough with Source's supposed improvement, it seems to have lost the fun factor. And part of the blame for that has to go with the whole Steam architecture, which is definitely not at all popular around Asia, again, I miss those days where you had to manually download and install the update executables.

I dont know what to think of the new pricing system (i hope it's independant pricing on LANs), it can be kind of unfair at times, but I do think it does add depth into the game.

Tactics in Cs at all? You mean rambo gets covering fire whilst he disarms the bomb, I hope?

Never played in a closed non-pub clan match have you? It's very tactical. If you have good stats, it can be extremely strategic.

i actually hated the old install method it was difficult U had to install Half life then the CS mod then update to 1.5 and all that crap what a pain in the ass. And joining servers with friends was fine ip type connect. Steam made it SOO much easier. Only thing i hate bout steam is that they refuse to send emails regarding lost passwords > iv lost about 2 accounts and am now using a friends.

Nah u need a little adrenaline a day to keep the circulation in shape...

This update actualy made me play 1.6 again for a bit today...d*mn its still fun, maybe its nostaglia but it makes me smile.

Be intrested to see how DWP pans out over the next few weeks, can see the AK and M4 going up a wee bit in price on those servers using it.
