So without even giving either this beta a chance, or trying the new money system at all, you are writing it off already? I find it quite fresh and actually it does add some nice tactical ideas to the game if you think about it. Not to mention Valve did say this would be one of a few "additions" to CSS over the next while. I doubt very much Valve would be willing to ruin their bread and butter game, regardless how good HL2/Ep1/Ep2 etc sell. CS/CSS are still bread and butter to them.

I dont play much of CS anymore. While there are many players still playing CS(CSource that is), I kind of have to agree that CS as a whole has lost it's whole appeal that it used to have years ago in LAN events all over the world. Especially in asia, where LAN gaming shops are fairly popular, people have simply stopped playing CS all together. I dont even know if many shops in Thailand even bothered to install CSource, so far I haven't seen it anywhere. While the online gameplay still seems popular to a certain degree, I really miss the craze it had in LAN gameplays back in the CS 1.3 to 1.6 days, but since then, eventhough with Source's supposed improvement, it seems to have lost the fun factor. And part of the blame for that has to go with the whole Steam architecture, which is definitely not at all popular around Asia, again, I miss those days where you had to manually download and install the update executables.

I dont know what to think of the new pricing system (i hope it's independant pricing on LANs), it can be kind of unfair at times, but I do think it does add depth into the game.

Never played in a closed non-pub clan match have you? It's very tactical. If you have good stats, it can be extremely strategic.
