Thanks to Inplode and DjmUK for pointing this out.
EA's Battlefield 2142 has now been released to retail and on EA Downloader! Along with the release, comes the first patch for the game, which will update the retail release to version 1.01. The patch fixes a "small" bug with Titan mode where it would cause a crash client side. The patch is 17 megs, and is available for the retail game, and a 117 meg download for dedicated servers. If you pre-ordered or bought Battlefield 2142 through EA Downloader, there is no need to patch, as it is included in the download already.
Here are some mirrors for the patch:

a "small" bug... right!
it is, but apparently it's possibly got spyware/adware in it...I'm waiting to hear the confirm/deny on that, and whether EA plans on keeping it in there if it truly is there.

Awesome, thanks biko, that puts my mind at ease.
****ing bullshit.. this is EA we are talking about.. the greediest games company out there. And they need more money to make titles like this BF2142.. hello...its rubbbish, wake up people.
edit : low and behold, the EA Downloader (Pre-loaders, me included) have to wait until noon tomorrow for it to install. Tons of angry forum posts, and rightly so considering the game is on shelves.

EA downloader?
You know what? fahk you EA.
negative. i reinstalled for the first time since the 2nd (first working patch) was released, and still doesn't correct any of the technical issues i've experienced on 3 machines, the least of which was top of the line at release. gameplay is still pretty lol too.
did they put in a quickswitch bind by chance? i might giver a shot in a couple years if so.
