I might start making this a weekly thing when the Top 10's are announced. So here are the Top 10 best selling games for the week of October 8th through the 14th. There are a couple of new games on the chart this week, of course the shocking debut of Desperate Housewives the game should come as no surprise, right? Quake 4 returns to the top 10, as does The Sims 2 expansion The Glamour Life. Real Deal Slots? Eh. Without further delay, here are the Top 10:
  1. World of Warcraft - Blizzard
  2. Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War: Dark Crusade - THQ
  3. The Sims 2: Glamour Life Stuff - EA Games
  4. Company of Heroes - THQ
  5. The Sims 2- EA Games
  6. Desperate Housewives: The Game - Buena Vista Games
  7. Lego Star Wars II: The Original Trilogy - Lucasarts
  8. Real Deal Slots: Mystic Forest - Phantom EFX, INC
  9. Age of Empires III - Microsoft Games Studio
  10. Quake 4 - Activision
WoW back on top, as it should be! I'm kidding.

q4 was the most disappointing game of all time? Maybe we played different games. I thought it was awesome in almost all aspects of game play. What was disappointing about it, exactly? Have you played the first 3?

Just a look at that chart shows the steady decline in PC sales has contributed to the lowering the charts to the same state as that of the UK Music Charts.

(before I start - I'm not judging anyone on this - I have my own opinions about piracy )

Piracy of PC Games is massive now.....as is Music. In the UK, I remember when a piece of music arrived in the charts at say 20-30, and over the course of a week or two managed to get into the top 10, such was the volumes of singles being purchased.

Not now.....I wonder if that is happening with the PC Market by anychance?

I think it's simply more and more games are being bought online through means like steam etc. It doesn't help that games like WoW also eat huges ammounts of your time. Not giving you a chance to play anything else!

I'd say that its less to do with online purchasing but more to do with the gaming demographic expanding. Theres alot more games that you wouldnt expect to see in the charts several years ago, especially the budget games which constantly find themselves in the charts or the "platinum packs: for games like sim city that are years old.

I'd say its just a shift in who games. I see just as many older people in say EB now than i do younger.

It is also just a week of time. I think that the top 10 best selling of the year will be more accurate to even your opinions. But what exactly has come out within the past few weeks?

Anyway, the piracy thing is a good point.

I think the reason why WOW is on top again is either Blizzard is either offering deep discounts on the game or the retailers are.

Here in Canada the big electronics retailer Futureshop ( owned by Bestbuy ) is selling it for half price...$ 24.95. So who wouldn't want to own it....

- Till when WoW will be No.1 ?? It's really getting silly.. Isn't there any other game..?

WoW must have sold an insane amount of copies by now, still being number 1..

Medieval II - Total War, Neverwinter Nights, then Star Trek Legacy. November is looking pretty good for the PC gaming industry.
