Yes, its that time of the week again. The NPD Group has released the newest Top 10 list for PC games (and consoles of course, not listed here though) in the US and guess who is back on top again? Yes that's right, a Sims 2 expansion. Shock, surprise, awe. Yikes. Here you go:

  1. The Sims 2 Pets - Electronic Arts
  2. Battlefield 2142 - Electronic Arts
  3. Flight Simulator X Deluxe - Microsoft
  4. World of Warcraft - Blizzard
  5. Flight Simulator X - Microsoft
  6. Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War Dark Crusade - THQ
  7. Nancy Drew: Creature of Kapu Cave - Her Interactive
  8. Age of Empires III: War Chiefs - Microsoft
  9. The Sims 2 Glamour Life - Electronic Arts
  10. The Sims 2 - Electronic Arts

To those people wondering why they keep making Sims crap, there's your answer.

Yeah, because they're POPULAR and ENJOYABLE to many people. It may be crap to you, but to others (specifically those who like playing God, and the female audience in general) it's an enjoyable experience.

It is better than that Battlefield 2142 crap. At least the Sims 2 is playable.

I meant Sims crap in the really general sense--I'm guilty of owning the game and every expansion pack.

The game is popular because it's accessible to a broader audience, unlike shooters and MMORPGs. How many people could talk their grandmother into playing BF or WoW?

Sims is far away to a single game, Sims is a community

Why list Flight Sim X and Deluxe separately?
#4.1 vetLOC on 02 Nov 2006 - 18:30
Because they are a seperate SKU and sold that way. Both make the Top 10 like most dual/tripile releases these days.

Southpark had a huge impact on keeping WoW up there for October, it'll be down next few months probably, then the xpac will take the #1 spot when its released.

...Nancy... Drew?!

For me, Nancy drew sound like a "Murder, she wrote".

Everyone dislike flight simulator X (in comparison with the old version), even hitler : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tcW3hbnR2EI
