Considering Blizzard's World of Warcraft expansion pack The Burning Crusade sold 2.4 million copies in its first day on sale, it's entirely possible some gamers haven't been able to find a copy at their local game retailers. Regardless of the game's popularity at brick-and-mortar stores, WOW addicts can now get their Burning Crusade fix without having to drive to the store, much less get up out of their favorite office chairs.

Blizzard today updated the official World of Warcraft Web site with news that The Burning Crusade is now available as a direct online upgrade for the game. To download the game, players just need to login to their World of Warcraft accounts, click the Burning Crusade "download now" button, and pay the $39.99 price of admission with a credit card.
