Nintendo's new Wii console has its first million-seller. In an interview with IGN Wii on Thursday, NOA's VP of marketing and corporate affairs, Perrin Kaplan, said that The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess has sold more than one million copies "in the Americas alone." Kaplan also said that Nintendo is well on target to sell through six million Wii systems around the world by the end of March.

The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess is an epic adventure from director Eiji Aonuma, best known for the N64 Majora's Mask and GameCube Wind Waker Zelda titles before it. In the game, players take on the role of Link on a new quest to save Hyrule from the creeping Twilight realm. The title features old and new characters and classic-style puzzle-solving. IGN Wii rated the game a 9.5 out of 10 and selected it as our Wii Game of the Year. It was picked as overall Game of the Year by the majority of online and print outlets.

Sadly, the only reason I want a Wii is to play this game.

then why don't you buy a GameCube? The console itself is like less than half the price of a Wii even if the game is priced the same.

Wii Sports comes with every console. It would be pointless to brag about the amount of copies they have of it in production.

that is true, but it would easily outsell this if it didn't come with the consoles

The sales figures are from their reports in North America alone.

Just waiting now, for Metroid or something else worth buying.

Yup, now there's the inevitable game drought, my Wii is now being used more for just checking up on news stories around the world, than actually used as a video game console.

That's one of the reasons I am waiting to get a Wii as well. That, and I am waiting for the black one.

I just figured out how to really play wii golf and I am now addicted to wii golf.

I just finished wario ware.

I dont know how there will be a drought. Since Sonic is coming out , you then have metroid prime 3, ssb, mario galaxy. Also a whole bunch of vc games and third party games.

I actually have too many games too play and not enough time especially when wii sports is soo addicting lol
