Although the Xbox 360 Elite isn't set to officially launch until April 29, a lucky Chico, California man was able to score one such console from a Target store. Pictures proving his purchase hit Photobucket and other various Internet forums. It didn't take long for the lucky man to put the brand new console up on eBay; the auction is set to end on April 23. Microsoft has not disclosed the number of Xbox 360 Elite units it plans to launch with, making the rumours all the more wild. If you aren't planning to bid on the Elite auction, you'll have to wait another 10 days and dish out the $479.99 USD for HDMI and a 120GB HDD.

Last time I looked the bid was up to $800. That is crazy! Its not like they won't be readily available.

You will always find somebody with wads of cash to blow to get something early so they can feel cool

Being a Chico man myself, I actaully know this guy, and the only reason he got it, is because he works there

Stores that break the rules and put these products on the shelves or sell them before they are given the okay should be shut down

We have some in the warehouse at the Wal-Mart I work at, but we can't put them on the shelves until launch day. The guy that does all the electronics stocking said there are like 6 of them so far.
