Sony executives from all around the world have had a couple different stances on the topic of PlayStation 3 price cuts. Recently, however, Sir Howard Stringer, the chairman and CEO of Sony Corporation, said the following of the PS3 price cuts: “That is what we are studying at the moment. That’s what we are trying to refine.” While Stringer’s comments do not make any direct indication of a price drop, it signals that Sony is not blind to the views of its customers. Stringer also said he expected “energy [in PS3 sales] by Christmas, and then you will begin to see break-out games.” Stringer also commended Nintendo on its successful business model: “Nintendo Wii has been a successful enterprise, and a very good business model, compared with ours ... because it’s cheaper.”

Wii's success is certanly shaped by it's pricing, but saying that Wii succeeded only because of price reminds me of those idiotic statements made by several Sony bosses since the introduction of PS3. Arrogance with failed product can take You only so far, and then it's rollercoaster to botomless pit.

How do you "refine" a price? Just drop it already

*SIR* Howard will look at the price, realize his 50 foot yacht is not a 75 foot yacht and promptly increase the PS3 by $100.

haha that's a good one

And agree with #1, I've had it with Sony's arrogant statements and will probably never end up buying a PS3 or any of it's successors

So THAT'S what Sony's been hiding up it's sleeve this whole time, it's killer AAA title due out at christmas is none other than...BREAK OUT!

Just think, now you'll be able to have top PC game quality on your PS3, it really is something to be reckoned with!

Take that Pac-man, you arse bandit!

A breakout-type game might actually be pretty cool with motion sensing on the SIXAXIS.

The only reason I'll ever get a PS3 is for FFXIII, and that reason alone.

For some reason I was in the understanding that Microsoft would carry a/some Final Fantasy release(s) for the Xbox 360. I thought I had read that somewhere. And the only reason I have EVER bought a playstation was for that sole purpose. So if Microsoft DOES get a grab on FF then Sony is in serious trouble.

Square Enix has used strong language to say it's not coming to xbox360, at least the FF series.
SE is releasing a new MMORPH for both PS3 and Xbox360 and you do have FFXI.
There only releasing a new FF Crystal Chronicles for the Wii, but seem to do a lot of games for DS Lite.
