XBOX 360 Halo 3 Edition unveiled

Microsoft is going to release a new version of its XBOX 360…just for the release of Halo 3! This new 360 will have the color profile of “Spartan Green” and “Spartan Gold” colxbox360or, with a matching ”Spartan Green” controller will come with it. This is not a big of a surprise as they have done a similar kind of thing with the Zune. We should see this around the release date of Halo 3 which will be Sep. 25, 2007. On that, which Microsoft refers to, will be the biggest game launch date in history.

The new Special Edition contains these components:

* Halo 3 Special Edition Console
* Halo 3 Special Edition Wireless Controller
* Halo 3 Special Edition 20GB Hard Drive
* Halo 3 Special Edition Wired Headset
* Halo 3 Special Edition Gamer Pics and Theme (Exclusive download via Xbox LIVE)

* Ethernet Cable
* HDMI Port
* Play & Charge Kit
* Xbox LIVE Silver Membership
* One-month Lbox LIVE Gold Membership
* Halo 3 game not included—sold separately

This is kind of weird isn't it.. I mean HDMI port.. but 20GB harddrive? And how can you sell the Halo 3 version with no Halo 3 game.. obviously if your that addicted or fanboy of Halo and buy this crappy version of the console, you will buy the game.

And no doubt they'll slap on a bigger price tag just so you can have a fugly paint scheme.
Also - What's the point if you don't bundle Halo 3 with it? Who in their right mind is going to spend hundreds on a custom, limited edition console and then NOT buy the game? You may as well throw it in with this.

Just doesn't make sense to me, should have stuck with the face plate.

I'm thinking it's probably so that folks can buy this and still have the choice of which edition of Halo 3 they want to buy. Although saying that, I think the majority of people buying this console will be getting either the Legendary or Limited edition.
